Marlon Pack has praised the Cheltenham board for their willingness to back manager Mark Yates in the transfer market.
The midfielder arrived at Whaddon Road from Portsmouth in the summer after Yates assured him he had the financial support from chairman Paul Baker to compile a squad capable of challenging for promotion. Yates was true to his word, and Cheltenham currently sit fourth in the npower League Two table.
"Credit has to go to the chairman and the board for giving the gaffer what he needed at the start of the season," he told Press Association Sport.
"That was one of the main reasons why I signed here, when I sat down with the gaffer and we talked about what was going on and what he wanted.
"But it's also down to the gaffer as well.
"He has brought in Alan Bennett, who's got promotion from League Two twice with Brentford and Wycombe and Darryl Duffy, who has scored goals at a higher level.
"Then we've got in a lot of talented young players on loan like Jimmy Spencer, Jack Butland, Luke Garbutt and it's all fitted together well and hopefully will lead to promotion."
