PCB probing Pak cricketers playing with 'banned' Kaneria in US exhibition matches

Johannesburg, Apr 19 (ANI): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly launched an investigation into exhibition matches in the United States, where a number of international Pakistani cricketers played with banned spinner Danish Kaneria. Kaneria was given a lifetime ban for spot-fixing in an English county game, which under ICC rules effectively bars him from playing anywhere in the world, although he represented US cricket club Houston Eagles in a series of Twenty20 games last weekend. According to The Dawn, Pakistani players like Wahab Riaz, Nasir Jamshed, Fawad Alam, Abdul Razzaq and Shahzaib Hasan were involved in the games, seeing which, the PCB said that the they are looking into how these players featured in these matches- authorised or unauthorized- without their permission. The USA Cricket Association (USACA) could also have questions to answer as banned players such as Kaneria are not allowed to play in any match under the auspices of an ICC member country's association, the report added.
