Olympic and Paralympic gold medallists will appear at the three-day event including stars such as Usain Bolt and Jessica Ennis, but there is no invitation for Pistorious at the three-day event which finishes with a Paralympic Challenge on July 28.

Pistorious is on bail as he awaits trial facing charges of murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in South Africa.

"I don’t want to see the Sunday of the Anniversary Games turning into a media circus. It would overshadow every other athlete that was there," said Ed Warner, chairman of UK Athletics.

"It’s not about innocent or guilty, it’s about how you handle an individual with a difficult moral situation hanging over them.

"Anything might change but, based on what I know at the moment, it would be a “no” if he rang this morning."
