Liverpool 3-2 Tottenham Hotspur

Brendan Rodgers: "Football is worldwide now so everyone has seen how good [Suarez] is. But he is very happy among his mates here and you have seen today it doesn't matter where he plays - he was in the number 10 role and then he went in from the side he still created havoc. He knows the trust I put in him and that gives him the platform to go and perform. We are on a great run at the moment and we knew this was going to be a severe test of our qualities and character against a team in great form. For us to get three points and show the character was fantastic and I am delighted for the players because they worked ever so hard."

Andre Villas-Boas: "It is difficult for us to take because we did ever so well to come back into the game. We lost control of the game when things looked to be going our way, which was more down to a couple of mistakes we did rather than to Liverpool's merit - although they worked very hard. I think we looked very strong and the overall performance was excellent - it had nothing to do with tiredness. Liverpool pressed us hard on that (Walker) backpass and they deserve credit for that as they put us under pressure very quickly. Sometimes moments like this happen and you can't be too negative to a player who has done well in a 12-game unbeaten run. Hopefully this setback can serve as an example to move forward."

Newcastle United 2-1 Stoke City

Alan Pardew: "He was immense. Steven Taylor gave a performance of England standard. They really do need to have a look at him at centre-half because I think it's a problem position for England and his performance against [Peter] Crouch and everything else that they threw at us - because we had no height in the team. Steven Taylor had to do everything on that side of it and he was brilliant."

Tony Pulis: "We are desperately disappointed. We could have had a penalty in the first half; the incident where Cisse was involved with Ryan and Willo - on another day, something could have happened with him and he might not even have been on the pitch. The referee deemed that it was alright. Fine, if he's still on the pitch, we should defend better. But I am disappointed, absolutely distraught with the result, but the performance and the effort and the commitment of the players was absolutely first-class."
