West Bromwich Albion found the back of the net for the first time this season as they snatched an injury time equaliser courtesy of Gareth McAuley’s late header in a 1-1 draw at Fulham.

Steve Sidwell’s goal looked to have been enough but McAuley rose to meet Chris Brunt’s corner two minutes into stoppage time to give his team another vital point.

Fulham were ahead from the first corner of the match, Sidwell firing into the corner of Myhill’s net after Alex Kacaniklic’s delivery fell kindly onto his left foot.

Fulham had the ball in the net on three separate occasions only for the linesman to correctly raise his flag, the last of which saw Hugo Rodallega fire home after Bryan Ruiz smashed his shot against the bar.

But the visitors carved out the better chances in the second period and were worthy of a point when McAuley rose to head in Brunt’s corner.

There was also late concern for Fulham’s Ruiz as the Costa Rican landed awkwardly on his ankle before being stretchered off and the extent of his injury remains to be seen.
