Samba was one of the high-profile names brought in by manager Harry Redknapp at the end of the transfer window to try and resurrect the club's flagging fortunes.

While the Hoops kept a clean sheet in Samba's first game, the heavy reverse at Swansea followed to leave them seven points adrift of safety ahead of this weekend's visit of leaders Manchester United.

The 28-year-old admitted he had been angered by his, and his team's performance at the Liberty Stadium, and revealed he had made his feelings know in the dressing-room afterwards.

"I have nothing to hide - I was very angry," he told the official website. "I said what I saw to the players.

"You shouldn't be ashamed of your performances but against Swansea, I was ashamed of both mine and the team's performance. There's nothing worse than feeling full of regret."
