Wellington, Apr 01 (ANI): Retiring veteran left arm -spinner Daniel Vettori and outgoing bowling coach Shane Bond believe that New Zealand cricket is in good hands, with the latter describing the new crop of cricketers as 'next golden age of New Zealand cricket'. New Zealand reached their first World Cup final under the bold leadership of Brendon McCullum before a golden summer that saw them dominate Pakistan and Sri Lanka in test and one-day cricket. The success of New Zealand team is best reflected in the official World Cup XI, which included five Black Caps-skipper Brendon McCullum, veteran spinner Vettori, batsman Martin Guptill, all-rounder Corey Anderson and pace bowler Trent Boult. Describing the team's future prospects as 'upwards', Vettori said that it was a really exciting time for New Zealand cricket, citing the talents coming through the domestic scene. Meanwhile, former New Zealand fast bowler Bond insisted that they have played exceptionally well and progressed up the ladder in the toughest form of the game, Stuff.co.nz reported. Bond, who is moving to the lucrative Indian Premier League to coach, further said that the game is in a great state, and it is a good time to step away, maintaining that this is the next golden age of New Zealand cricket, like the 1980s.
