Ronda Rousey Among Business Insider's “50 Women Who Are Changing the World”

Dana White: “Ronda Rousey is What It Took to Get Women in the UFC”

UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey is breaking new ground every day, and everyone seems to be taking notice.

Rousey’s latest honor is landing on the Business Insider list of “50 Women Who Are Changing the Word.”

Landing at No. 42 on the list, Business Insider had the following to say about Rousey:

Thanks to martial arts fighter Ronda Rousey, women now fight in the UFC.

The trash-talking Olympian qualified for the Athens games when she was only 17, and was the youngest judo competitor enlisted. In 2006, she became the first U.S. female athlete in nearly 10 years to win an A-Level tournament when she took home the gold metal at the Birmingham World Cup in Great Britain.

She also graced the cover of ESPN's body issue last year.

Melinda Gates topped the list. She and her husband, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, have turned the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation into the world’s philanthropic organization.

Other notables on the list include First Lady Michelle Obama, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, amongst others.
