Leigh beat Halifax to end their Co-operative Championship title hopes

Featherstone are assured of ending the Championship season with the league leaders' shield after second-placed Halifax were beaten 32-28 by Leigh on Friday night.

Needing to a bridge a four-point gap between themselves and Rovers with just two games left, Fax needed a win tonight but were denied by the mid-table Centurions.

Bob Beswick, Gregg McNally, Martyn Ridyard (two), Stuart Littler and Ryan Brierly all went over for Leigh.

Sam Barlow, Ryan Fieldhouse, Rob Worrincy (two) and Paul White scored for Karl Harrison's side.
