Six goals and 13 McShane minutes on Roy Keane’s scouting trip to Hull

Ireland’s assistant manager Roy Keane was at the KC Stadium this afternoon to watch Hull City thrash Fulham 6-0.

While Keane, no doubt, gleaned something tactical, and useful, from the Premier League clash, his main priority was scuppered. The former Manchester United midfielder was on a scouting trip to check out Hull’s Irish contingent but was left with an eye on the Tigers’ bench for most of the game.

David Meyler and Paul McShane were both named as substitutes by Keane’s former United teammate, Steve Bruce. Robbie Brady was not deemed fit to make the matchday squad. McShane eventually got a run out, on 77 minutes, but Meyler was deemed surplus to requirements.

Hull destroyed Fulham 6-0 after goals from Ahmed Elmohamady, Robert Koren (two), George Boyd, Matty Fryatt and Tom Huddlestone.

Huddlestone had his hair trimmed by a member of the Hull backroom staff, on the sidelines, as part of a bizarre goal celebration. The midfielder had promised he would cut his hair once he ended a season-long goalscoring drought.
