Diarra was found to be in contravention of Law 10.4(b) at a hearing in Dublin after clashing with Low in the second half of Castres' 10-8 Heineken Cup win on Saturday, European Rugby Cup announced.
The offence was deemed to be at the high-end entry point suspension of nine weeks but due to a clean disciplinary record, Diarra had seven days deducted.
The Frenchman will therefore be eligible to return on February 11 next year although Diarra has the right to appeal the outcome.
