Blake Green has been in sparkling form for Wigan this season

The table-topping Warriors are not only the form team of Super League but the one that brings out the best in the opposition, according to Green, who joined the Warriors from Hull KR at the end of last season.

"It's something I certainly noticed coming to Wigan," said the 26-year-old Australian. "Everyone seems to get up for the game against us. It doesn't seem to matter what position they are on the ladder, they seem to bring a different intensity when they play Wigan."

Green, whose sparkling form this season earned him a place in the 28-strong Exiles squad for the game against England in June, was rested for Wigan's cup tie against Leigh last week, along with hooker Michael McIlorum and second-rower Liam Farrell.

But all three will be back as Shaun Wane's men look to open up a three-point lead as the regular season nears the halfway mark.

"We've been very good at the start of the year," Green admitted. "We've set ourselves up for a good position leading into the second half of the season.

"We're not chasing our tail or anything. We're up near the top of the ladder making our own luck."

Wigan have won their past seven meetings with Hull, including three at the KC Stadium, but Wane is leaving nothing to chance against a team that has won their past three league games to climb into the top eight by organising an overnight stay in east Yorkshire ahead of the game.

Green added: "I think it's going to be tough. We watched a bit of video of Hull during the week and I think they've got some really good shapes.

"Pete Gentle has already been there for a season and he's probably starting to take hold of the club a little bit more. He's certainly got some good structures in place and they throw some footie at you. They've won their last three or four in a row so it's going to be a good contest for us."
