Ian Kirke, right, has agreed a new two-year deal at Leeds

The 32-year-old, who has made 177 appearances since joining the Rhinos from York in 2006, has agreed a new two-year deal which takes him to the end of 2015.

Kirke rejected the chance to move to Wakefield in the close season and is delighted to extend his stay at Headingley, saying: "I had no intentions to leave the club because I am very happy with life at the Rhinos, so to get a new contract is brilliant. We have kept a core of players together since I have been here and I think that has stood us in good stead."

Leeds coach Brian McDermott added: "Ian is an integral part of our squad. Every successful team needs players who have the attributes that Ian brings to our team."
