Maguire took Wigan to both Grand Final and Challenge Cup wins in his two seasons in charge before moving to the Rabbitohs in 2012.
"I'm really pleased to have re-signed here, at such a great club, and to have the opportunity to continue to work on everything we've been doing for an extended period," he said.
Meanwhile, former Castleford forward Richie Fa'aoso has announced his retirement from rugby league due to a fractured vertebrae suffered in Manly Sea Eagles' Grand Final qualifier against South Sydney last season.
The 29-year-old, who played in Super League for the Tigers in 2006 and is a veteran of 11 NRL seasons, had been hoping to fulfil the final year of his contract with the Sea Eagles in 2014 but extensive tests showed the risks would be too great.
"It's an unfortunate situation for Richie and his family," Sea Eagles general manager David Perry said.
