Darrell Goulding is a doubt for the play-off clash with Huddersfield

Darrell Goulding, who missed the Warriors' recent home game against Hull after being concussed during their Challenge Cup final win, must undergo another head test after taking a blow in last Thursday's defeat by Leeds.

And Iain Thornley, who scored the opening try in Wigan's 16-0 win over Hull at Wembley, has been on a drip in hospital after going down with gastro-enteritis.

"Darrell Goulding has another concussion from last week and Iain Thornley has been in hospital overnight with gastro-enteritis but he should be okay," coach Shaun Wane said.

"It's the second time this year that he's had it so we'll get him checked out.

"I'd like to have our centres firing but, if that's not the way it's going to be, I've got people like Anthony Gelling ready to come in."

Wigan are already without loose forward and captain Sean O'Loughlin, who has been ruled out for a month with an Achilles tear.

Huddersfield's only doubt is second-rower Ukuma Ta'ai, who suffered a badly-split lip early during Saturday's 58-6 defeat at Bradford and was taken to hospital to undergo emergency plastic surgery.

Ta'ai was one of only four regulars to face the Bulls as coach Paul Anderson rested his players ahead of the play-offs.

"Ukuma's got a fair split to his lip and there's no question he could be a doubt for Thursday," said Anderson.

"It just depends on how things go at hospital with the plastic surgery."
