Ryan Atkins scored four tries for holders Warrington

Wolves coach Tony Smith took no chances against the Kingstone Press Championship club, fielding 11 members of the side that beat Leeds in last August's Wembley final, and he was rewarded with a ruthless display.

Centre Ryan Atkins scored four of the holders' 13 tries while 19-year-old prop Glenn Riley marked his senior debut with a well-taken try and Chris Riley and Rhys Williams scored a brace apiece as the visitors cruised to victory.

Trent Waterhouse, Richie Myler, Gareth O'Brien and acting captain Brett Hodgson claimed a try each, while the latter also contributed 11 conversions for the Wolves.

Paul White's second-half effort was all the Cogars could muster in reply.
