You need to see Grimes' shower hose inspired ponytail
Seeing as she arrived on the Met Gala red carpet carrying a gigantic sword, it's easy to see why you might have missed Grimes' Slinky-inspired ponytail.
A word on the sword before we get to the hair. In an interview with Vogue the musician said her look was inspired by the book turned film Dune - a sci-fi film set in the distant future where people are battling for control of a desert planet.
Make of that what you will.
Accessorising her sword with a silver face mask and pearl embellished face, whether we get the reference or not, Grimes had one of the best looks of the night.
When it comes to hair colours, Grimes has dyed her hair pretty much every colour under the sun.
However it looks like she had a colour change for the event, as her last Instagram picture taken on the 31st August shows her with rose gold hair, whereas last night she debuted a unique purple ombre tone.
Not only was her colour different, but Grimes' ponytail was like nothing we have ever seen before.
Part shower hose, part Slinky toy, if this is what a dystopian future looks like maybe it's not all bad.
Owen Gould was the stylist behind our favourite hair of the night, along with Natasha Severino who was responsible for makeup, including those stunning pearls.
Let's just hope the after party looks are as good as the main event...
