Rudi Skacel has agreed a contract extension with Hearts until the end of the season.

The Czech playmaker's current deal was set to expire on Monday but he will remain at Tynecastle after negotiations over a new deal ended with an agreement to stay at the Edinburgh club for the remainder of the campaign.

Skacel, 32, is the club's top goalscorer this season with nine goals from midfield.

Goalkeepers Jamie MacDonald and Mark Ridgers have also recently agreed extensions to their contracts.

Skacel's decision to stay at Hearts was confirmed on the club's website after the player revealed the news on Twitter.

He tweeted: "I am happy to say we came to an agreement with Hearts and I am staying till the end of season! Let's go Jambos!"

Meanwhile, striker Rob Ogleby has joined Wrexham after agreeing to an early termination of his Hearts contract.

Jamie Walker has returned to Raith Rovers on loan again until the end of the campaign.

Evaldas Razulis' loan agreement with Kaunas has now been made permanent, while Craig Thomson's loan spell with the Lithuanian club has come to an end.
