Snapshot – Hurling stars jet off on 5,804 mile trip to Shanghai

Clare players lead the way as part of the 100-strong Irish delegation that headed off to Shanghai this morning.

It’s all part of this year’s Allstars tour which will see the 2012 and 2013 teams in opposition in the first official hurling game in China next Saturday.

And the All-Ireland champions, lead by their captain Pat Donnellan, were bringing the Liam MacCarthy Cup with them.

John Conlon, David McInerney, Brendan Bugler, Colm Galvin and Tony Kelly complete the Banner contingent.

Conor Lehane, Patrick Horgan and Anthony Nash will be travelling from the Cork side that lost out in September’s All-Ireland final replay.

Dublin

Liam Rushe, Joey Boland and Peter Kelly are part of Anthony Daly’s Leinster champions winning side.

Limerick

Nickie Quaid, Richie McCarthy and Paul Browne from the Munster champions that are heading off on tour.

Kilkenny

Of course there’s also leading figures from the 2012 season with members of that Kilkenny All-Ireland winning side leaving Dublin Airport today in Paul Murphy, Brian Hogan, Eoin Larkin and JJ Delaney.

Galway

From the west there is David Burke, Cyril Donnellan, Iarla Tannian, David Collins and Joe Canning.

Tipperary

Flying the flag for the Premier are Michael Cahill and Patrick Maher.

Waterford

And finally there is the Deise man John Mullane.
