Organisers were given warning that the weather might not be on their side in Spain when heavy winds, fog and rainfall meant training for the snowboard cross event on Tuesday was cancelled.

Conditions did not improve much a day later as, despite several delays, the first final of the last snowboard World Cup round of the season, the parallel giant slalom, was unable to go ahead.

World Cup leader Prommegger, who won last time out in La Molina for his fourth victory of the season, was therefore awarded the men's parallel giant slalom as well as the overall parallel titles.

Fellow Austrian Marion Kreiner was crowned the ladies' parallel giant slalom World Cup champion while Patrizia Kummer of Switzerland took the overall parallel title.
