The Brazil-born Swede, who won the Italian SGP last season en-route to finishing seventh in the standings, managed just three points in Gorzow and is 14th in the World Championship on 26 points.

Writing on his Facebook page, he said: “To all my fans, I'm sorry for my bad results and that I have disappointed you. I'm going through a real hard time right now, both in my speedway and my private life.

“I'm just human and sometimes I make bad decisions about how to solve my problems; decisions that just make everything even worse. Last time on the track I was scared!

“I will take care of this now and will start as of today to work with my head for real! Best Regards, Antonio Lindback.”
