Nurburgring WSBK: Rea breaks leg, Camier hospitalised in crashes

The Northern Irishman has a broken femur, while Camier is undergoing a CT scan on his neck.

Both riders had big crashes within seconds of each other at the same corner after Federico Sandi's Pedercini Kawasaki blew up and spilt oil.

A lap later, Rea was first to hit the oil and career into the gravel then Camier had the same crash. Both riders were tangled in their bikes during the incidents.

Race direction didn't stop the race after the oil was down, prompting a backlash from the paddock and from former riders, including Andrew Pitt, who called them 'a joke' on Twitter.
