Rangers winger David Templeton is unlikely to be risked in Saturday's Irn-Bru Third Division meeting with East Stirlingshire due to the synthetic surface at Ochilview.
The former Hearts forward has been absent since September 5 with an ankle injury.
The injury occurred on his second game for Rangers at Annan's Galabank Stadium, which also has a plastic pitch, and Templeton then picked up a hamstring injury.
Manager Ally McCoist told Rangers TV: "The good news is that David Templeton is back training with a view to getting back into first-team action again.
"However, the dilemma we have is that our next fixture is on the Astroturf away to East Stirling so we will need to think about that.
"The doctor did say that the surface down at Annan played a part in David's injury so we would be loath to put him into his first game back on Astroturf.
"So with that in mind it might be better to think about the Elgin City match the following week for him."
