UFC 157 Rousey vs. Carmouche Weigh-in Results: History in the Making

UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and challenger Liz Carmouche are set to make history at Saturday's UFC 157: Rousey vs. Carmouche at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. There's will be the UFC's first women's title bout, first women's headlining bout, and first women's bout, period.

Before they step in the Octagon to put that all in the history books, they first stepped on the scale on Friday afternoon at the Honda Center.

Rousey and Carmouche each came in under the 135-pound limit for the UFC women’s bantamweight championship that Rousey holds. Carmouche, grinning ear-to-ear, stepped up first, weighing in at 133.6 pounds. Rousey found the mark at 134.6 pounds.

Each of them had a much different demeanor after stepping off the scale.

Still all smiles, Carmouche said, “(I’m) grateful to all the fans for making this all possible and I’m excited to be here.”

Rousey already holds the belt, but had a scowl on her face, and when asked if she considered herself a UFC champion declaring without having fought in the Octagon yet, she said, “I don’t. Probably after I win the fight on Saturday, I’ll say that I won’t feel like the champion until I win it again. Every single fight it’s a new fight to me.”

With a title shot on the line for the winner of their bout, Lyoto Machida and Dan Henderson both made weight without issue, Henderson tipping the scale at 205 pounds, while Machida was well under at 202 pounds.

Preliminary bout fighter Nah-Shon Burrell – a Strikeforce transfer – weighed in well over the 171-pound welterweight allowance at 175.8 pounds. His opponent, Yuri Villefort, agreed to take the fight at that weight and will receive a percentage of Burrell’s fight purse.
