UFC 160 Expected to Take Place at MGM Grand Garden Arena on May 25

Olympic Gold Medalist Henry Cejudo Signs with UFC, Set to Fight Scott Jorgensen at UFC 177

The Ultimate Fighting Championship will return to its home base of Las Vegas for Memorial Day weekend, just as it has the past several years.

UFC 160 will take place on May 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena once granted formal approval by the Nevada Athletic Commission, the commission's executive director Keith Kizer told MMAWeekly.com.

The promotion also requested up to 12 bouts on the fight card. The UFC is trying to run as many bouts as possible on upcoming cards to help facilitate the assimilation of the Strikeforce roster, as well as keep its other fighters busy as well.

The UFC has operated an event at the MGM Grand during Memorial Day weekend every year since 2007. The May 2006 event was at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

There have been no UFC 160 bouts announced yet. UFC 146 – last year’s Memorial Day weekend event – featured a heavyweight title bout between then-champion Junior dos Santos and challenger Frank Mir.
