UFC 166 Results: Gabriel Gonzaga Scores First-Round Knockout Over Shawn Jordan

Gabriel Gonzaga kept his momentum going with a second straight first-round knockout, this time over Shawn Jordan on the main card at UFC 166 from the Toyota Center in Houston on Saturday night.

With both fighters coming off first-round knockout wins, this fight wasn't expected to last long and it was Jordan, a former college football player, who began on the front foot pushing the pace firing his jab.

Jordan landed a right hand on Gonzaga, but had a follow-up left hand blocked and the Brazilian made his pay by dropping Jordan with a right hook before the referee stopped the contest at 1:33 of round one.

“It feels great to be back. Just wait for the next fight,” Gonzaga said post-fight.

The eight-year UFC veteran, Gonzaga now rides a two-fight winning streak after wins over Jordan and Herman, while Jordan, who has only had five UFC fights, saw his two-fight winning run come to an end in Houston.
