UFC 171 Results: Myles Jury Grabs Decision Over Diego Sanchez

Myles Jury defeated Diego Sanchez by unanimous decision in their main card fight at UFC 171 on Saturday night in Dallas.

Jury dominated Sanchez for the duration of three rounds on the way to his win with scores of 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28.

Jury landed a counter to Sanchez's spinning back kick to land the first significant strike of the fight. Sanchez followed up by swarming in with a flurry of punches that led to a clinch against the cage. Later, Sanchez closed the distance, but paid for it with punches to his head and a takedown within the final minute of the opening round.

Jury opened up the second round with a right hand that cut Sanchez open under the left eye, leaving blood falling down the face. As Sanchez attempted to close the distance more, Jury countered and avoided the clinch, once again scoring a takedown near the final minute of the round. The fight returned to the feet just before the end of the frame, where Jury pummeled his opponent against the cage.

Sanchez continued to find difficulty penetrating Jury's defense in the third round. As he came forward, Sanchez was met with stifling counterpunches, and was taken down once again. A guillotine attempt towards the end of the fight was one of Sanchez's few bright spots, but he was unable to lock on the submission before time expired.

With the win, Jury maintains his undefeated record at 14-0, while Sanchez drops to 24-7.
