UFC 181 Fighter Bonuses: Pettis Brothers Lead Charge on Post-Fight Awards

UFC on FOX 21 Results: Anthony Pettis Wins Featherweight Debut; Aims for Conor McGregor's Belt

UFC 181: Hendricks vs. Lawler II took place on Saturday night in Las Vegas with another amazing battle between main eventers Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler. Lawler earned a split-decision nod from the judges in a back-and-forth battle, but neither fighter earned a post-fight bonus this time.

UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis did. He survived a difficult first round against Gilbert Melendez, and then battled through the first minute or so of the second round until he found his moment. In that moment, Pettis secured a guillotine choke to become the first fighter ever to finish Melendez, a veteran of 26 bouts.

Joining Pettis for the other Performance bonus was Josh Samman. Fighting on the FOX Sports 1 prelims, The Ultimate Fighter 17 alum battled through some tough striking exchanges to blast Eddie Gordon with a kick to the face that sent him free-falling to his back.
