UFC 183 Fighter Salaries: Silva and Diaz Earn More than Half of $2.182 Million Payroll

Anderson Silva Not Retired Yet, Calls for Nick Diaz Rematch

Anderson Silva and Nick Diaz, both having been out of action for an extended amount of time, returned at UFC 183 on Saturday, and it’s no wonder. The UFC paid them a combined $1.3 million to return to the Octagon.

Silva had been sidelined for more than a year after suffering a severely broken leg in his loss to Chris Weidman in December of 2013. Diaz had been in a self-imposed retirement since March of 2013, after having lost to Georges St-Pierre.

The fight ended in Silva’s favor, the former UFC middleweight champion earning a unanimous decision from the judges after five rounds of outstriking Diaz.
