UFC Fight Night 29 Medical Suspensions: Mike Pierce Out Up To 180 Days

The Brazilian Athletic Commission (CABMMA) on Friday released the UFC Fight Night 29: Maia vs. Shields medical suspensions to MMAWeekly.com. The medical suspensions were issued by Dr. Marcio Tannure, who is responsible for the Medical Committee of the Brazilian Athletic Commission.

Every fighter on the card received a minimum mandatory suspension of 14 days without a fight and 7 days without physical contact.

Mike Pierce received the lengthiest suspension at 180 days unless he gets prior clearance of his left knee and ankle from an orthopedist.

The man that inflicted the damage on Pierce, Rousimar Palhares, received the mandatory 14-day minimum medical suspension, but was also suspended for 120 days for failing to release the hold in a timely manner.
