UFC Fight Night 57 Medical Suspensions: Surprisingly Few Lengthy Suspensions

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation this week issued the UFC Fight Night 57: Edgar vs. Swanson medical suspensions. The event took place on Saturday, Nov. 22, in Austin, Texas.

Jared Rosholt was the only fighter on the card to face any sort of lengthy suspension, despite several hard-fought bouts that went the distance. After suffering a brutal knockout loss at the hands of Alexey Oliynyk, Rosholt was suspended until Jan. 22.

After a TKO stoppage by strawweight sensation Paige VanZant, Kailin Curran was one of five fighters suspended until Dec. 23.

While the majority of fighters received a 10-day suspension, no details were given as to the length of the other fighters’ suspensions.

Former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar immediately propelled himself back into the featherweight title picture by manhandling Cub Swanson for the better part of their fight, before submitting him late in the fifth round.
