The TV ratings for UFC on Fox 7: Henderson vs. Melendez reflected a drop from the December and January events that received the benefit of Fox’s promotion during NFL coverage, but not a very significant one.

UFC on Fox 7 drew 3.7 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research. That is down from 4.2 million viewers for UFC on Fox 6 in January, but again, it was also without the benefit of Fox's cornerstone coverage of the NFL boosting its promotional efforts.

It did, however, improve significantly upon the audience that UFC on Fox 3 last May. UFC on Fox 7 was nearly a 150-percent improvement over UFC on Fox 3, which drew an audience of 2.4 million.

Viewership for the main event title bout between Benson Henderson and Gilbert Melendez peaked at 4.7 million viewers.

UFC on Fox 7 also out-rated the combined averages of ABC, CBS and NBC in the key advertising demographics of Men 18-34, Men 18-49 and Men 25-54.

The UFC returns to Fox on July 27 with UFC on Fox 8 at KeyArena in Seattle.
