UFC Play-by-Play Commentator Mike Goldberg Headed to NFL on FOX

Bellator in Talks with Former UFC Broadcaster Mike Goldberg

The UFC may be on hiatus this weekend, but the promotion's longtime play-by-play commentator Mike Goldberg is not.

Goldberg will be handling play-by-play duties for the NFL on FOX on Sunday for the Detroit Lions at Minnesota Vikings game, which will air at 1 p.m. ET on FOX. The game is one of four that will air on FOX at that time, so it will only be available in the Detroit, Minneapolis, and Louisville markets, but Goldberg will be making the call alongside FOX regulars Brendon Ayanbadejo and Peter Schrager.

He’ll also be calling another game on FOX on Oct. 19 – Minnesota Vikings vs. Buffalo Bills – with the same crew. This game will also probably only be available to certain regions.

Stepping outside of his UFC duties is nothing new to Goldberg, who has had a lengthy broadcast career in other sports. He has worked college football games on Fox Sports Net; is the former play-by-play announcer for the Detroit Red Wings, Minnesota Wild, and ESPN 2 hockey; and has worked with the Vancouver Canucks, the Phoenix Coyotes, and announces the annual Lingerie Bowl.

But fear not, despite past attempts by the WWE to sway Goldie away from the UFC, he's not going anywhere. He'll be back at the UFC broadcast table alongside Joe Rogan soon enough.
