UFC Tulsa Co-Main Event Fighter Jordan Mein's Father Arrested Prior to Weigh-ins

UFC Fight Night 49 fighter Jordan Mein was handed an unwanted distraction on Friday, as his father and cornerman, James Lee Mein, was arrested prior to the weigh-ins in Tulsa, Okla., and carted off to jail.

James Lee Mein (who goes by the name Lee Mein) was arrested by Tulsa police Friday afternoon on a charge of Sexual Battery, although no details of the alleged incident were immediately available. MMAWeekly.com confirmed the arrest with Tulsa County officials following the original report of the arrest by Tulsa Voice reporter Beau Taylor.

Mein was released in the wee hours, just past midnight local time in Tulsa, on a $2,000 surety bond. A resident of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, he is expected to appear in court on Aug. 29.

Lee Mein, like his son, is an active MMA fighter. He is also the founder and head instructor of the Canadian Martial Arts Centre in Lethbridge, where Jordan trains.

Lee Mein has a professional record of 6-13, most recently losing to Tim Hague at a World Series of Fighting event on Feb. 21 in Edmonton.

Jordan Mein is slated to face Mike Pyle in the UFC Fight Night 49: Henderson vs. dos Anjos co-main event on Saturday night in Tulsa, Okla.
