Not far from Greenwich Park and the O2 Arena, where a wealth of Olympic activity will be taking place, and just a stone's throw from the Royal Artillery Barracks where this summer's shooting competitions will be held, the Woolwich Live Site big screen will offer fans a great opportunity to enjoy the best of the action in the shadow of some of the Games' major venues.
A new instalment for the borough, the ambience and relaxed atmosphere lend themselves perfectly to the Olympic spirit and create an idyllic setting thanks to trees and grass terraces. A newly landscaped square provides a haven of greenery in the heart of Woolwich, and will offer the perfect picnic spot for taking in the Olympic action with other fans. Built-in bench seating adds to the comfort of the surroundings.
Woolwich's Live Site will broadcast all the major events during the Games, with Team GB's opening football match against Senegal at Old Trafford on 26th July, the opening ceremony on 27th July, the men’s 100m final on 5th August, the final of the men’s football tournament on 11th August and the closing ceremony on 12th August all punctuating a lively and exciting roster of live coverage.
Woolwich will be one of five Live Sites in London, with the network of venues stretching countrywide to locations including Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle and Plymouth.
