The 21-year-old Santos striker, who has been linked with Barcelona, Manchester City and Chelsea, had always insisted he would remain in Brazil until after his homeland hosted the 2014 World Cup.
But, as Barca step up their interest with the impending departure of David Villa in mind, Neymar finally admitted he could move this summer.
“If I feel that this year is the best time, why not?” the player said.
“Santos make me happy, but nothing has been decided.”
Neymar however declined to comment on claims by his fellow Brazilian Daniel Alves, who said Barca had a first option agreement with Santos.
“And what if I claimed that Lionel Messi was coming to Santos? Would you believe me?” the flamboyant youngster joked.
Neymar has already scored 129 competitive goals for Santos in national, state and continental championships.
He has also netted 17 times in 28 international appearances since debuting for Brazil in 2010.
