The Pole celebrated the first world title of his career last week when he claimed the WRC 2 crown following a fifth class win from seven events on the Rally of Spain (pictured).

Despite that success, Kubica does not expect to carry the fight to the WRC frontrunners when he moves up a level and drives a factory Citroen on the Deeside-based November 14-17 rally.

"We have to stay very calm in GB. I know many people would like to see me go very fast in GB, but I think it will be very difficult," Kubica said.

"It will be impossible for me to be on pace or close enough top five or six, otherwise - with all the other drivers' experience, something will be wrong in the system.

"I am staying very calm: I don't think GB will make any difference to my season or to next year.

"This is a chance for me to learn a new car and new stages.

"Normally, my season would end in Spain, so I have to thank Citroen, Abu Dhabi and my sponsor Lotos - they had to say yes to this – for this opportunity."

Kubica will test the DS3 WRC for the first time in the week leading up to the final round of the world championship.
