Muller had a cautious approach and ended the first of the three days in 20th position, but on day two he increased his pace and moved up to 15th, benefiting from other competitors’ mistakes and despite tricky road conditions.

On the final day he managed to squeeze in to the top-ten in a few special stages. He was especially brilliant in the 18th and 19th stages, in which he ranked fourth and fifth respectively, climbing to 14th in the overall classification.

The rally was won by Sébastien Loeb who also clinched his ninth consecutive WRC title.
