61st anniversary of the Marilyn Monroe-Joe DiMaggio marriage

On this day in 1954, one of the biggest celebrity couples of all time got married. Joe DiMaggio of the Yankees married the biggest name in Hollywood, Marilyn Monroe. It seemed like a match made in heaven, but that all fell apart in October 1954 when they filed for divorce. Their marriage only lasted 274 days, but they maintained a friendship for many years after that. Before his passing in 1999, DiMaggio would have roses sent to her grave several times a week.
