  • People visit the photo exhibition entitled "The Sochi Project" by Dutch photographer Hornstra and his colleague van Bruggen at Photodoc centre in Moscow

People visit the photo exhibition entitled "The Sochi Project" by Dutch photographer Rob Hornstra and his colleague writer and filmmaker Arnold van Bruggen at the Photodoc centre in Moscow, October 19, 2013. The creators of the project, which included photographs taken in Sochi, the 2014 Winter Olympics host city, in particular, couldn't attend the opening on October 18 as they had been denied Russian visas. Also a week before the official opening, the Winzavod gallery, where the project was supposed to take place, cancelled the exhibition. The reason for the main exhibition's cancellation and for visa refusals for the Dutch journalists is the recent tensions between Russia and the Netherlands, according to some local media.
