    • - LEICESTER ARE PREMIERSHIP CHAMPIONS! A fantastic match, end-to-end stuff, with some crazy twists, turns, brilliant tries, a moment of madness from Hartley to earn a red... Absolutely thrilling throughout, but the congratulations go, once again to Leicester.
    • 80' Ford waits for the clock to go red before starting his run-up - and he finishes the match in style with three more points!
    • 79' Penalty to Leicester, and Ford will take it to run down the clock as much as anything...
    • 77' The coaches are shaking hands now - all over...
    • 76' So close to another for Leicester! Tuilagi makes a brilliant run up the right, but the man in support overruns the centre and he can't offload. Not that it matters now...
    • 75' Ford misses again - and badly, again. Good job they've not needed these kicks.
    • 74' ANOTHER TRY TO LEICESTER! Ford goes for a cross-field kick, it's collected brilliantly by replacement and Goneva is in for yet another try. 34-17!
    • 72' The scrum collapses and it's a Leicester penalty.
    • 71' 'Two scores and we're in this!' Dickson yells at his weary forwards, but the horse is dead now and no amount of flogging will change that.
    • 70' Leicster try to push up the left, but end up giving away a penalty.
    • 69' Northampton's Herculean efforts in this half are catching up on them now - they're struggling to get to their men and keep up. You just can't cover for a missing man in modern rugby.
    • 68' Ford pushes that one wide - quite a bad one to miss considering that he could have put them two converted tries clear. 29-17 to Leicester, 12 minutes left.
    • 67' That surely is it now for Northampton's hopes - 29-17, and it's an easy kick from the 15m...
    • 66' TRY TO LEICESTER! Seven phases pass and nothing seems on - but then TUILAGI BREAKS THROUGH! Devastating charge through the middle of the defensive line, ghosting through three men and running in with nobody able to get anywhere near him!
    • 65' Tigers hanging on to the ball well now...
    • 64' Saints end up with a throw on the right, winning it, and Foden clears - but Tait catches and counter-attacks...
    • 63' Leicester throw up outside the 22m - and they lose it! Saints break again after a terrible turnover.
    • 62' Leicester finally win the ball back - they need some time to slow this match down a bit if they want to stay in charge.
    • 61' Northampton the only team in it at the moment - Dickson looks ridiculsouly pumped up and is setting the tone by roaring at everyone on the pitch, whether friend or foe.
    • 59' Northampton charge forward again straight from the restart - this is becoming more like a Sevens game than a final that was supposed to be dominated by big forwards.
    • 58' LEICESTER 24-17 NORTHAMPTON - Myler finally lands a conversion, this one being from much closer to the posts, and somehow Saints are still in this match... Absolutely amazing stuff.
    • 57' TRY FOR SAINTS! Fabulous movement by Manoa, hauled down before the line, but he pulls off a one-handed offload to Dickson, who collects the bouncing ball and leaps over to score!
    • 56' Great break from Foden straight from the restart! He's up to within 15m from deep in his own half! And now there's a huge overlap...
    • 55' LEICESTER 24-10 - Ford lands the penalty - though only in off the post, worryingly, considering that it's one your mum could have kicked over while wearing flip flops.
    • 54' GREAT CHANCE MISSED BY LEICESTER! After half a dozen slow phases George Ford makes a brilliant break from the edge of the 22m and gets to the line before getting stopped. So close to a try - but it's a penalty anyway as the only man in support was tacklked off the ball.
    • 53' Leicester come back up the pitch - it's end to end stuff - and are quickly close to the 22m.
    • 52' Great chance lost for Saints as Manoa juggles and finally drops a pass out wide - he'd have had one man to beat to run his way in from 40m there...
    • 51' Huge challenge now for Northampton to try and stay in this. They look up for it, it must be said...
    • 49' Ford takes aim from the right touchline... but he fades it off the to the right. Still, it's Leicester 21-10 Northampton.
    • 48' LEICESTER STRIKE BACK! FANTASTIC TRY BY KITCHENER! The big lock storms through the 22m after throwing a dummy - yes, a dummy! - and blasts through Myler to touch down in the corner. What a try by Graham Kitchener!
    • 47' Hartley is on the bench having showered and changed, and looks as happy as a bulldog with piles chewing a plate of stinging nettles. Cheer up Dylan, your pal just scored a try!
    • 45' Myler's shot on goal is awful, well wide and very short, but it's 16-10 and Saints are right back in it.
    • 44' Great break by Saints again - AND IT'S A TRY! Fantastic move and pass by Hayward gives Saints a three-on-one, and Foden is released to touch down unopposed in the corner. What a twist!
    • 43' Bright sunshine at Twickenham now, as Saints keep on pushing.
    • 42' Good early break up the left by Pisi, but he's dispossessed 10m out and Tigers win it back. Ford clears the decks.
    • 41' We're back in action at Twickenham. What can Saints do?
    • - I believe that's the first ever straight red card in a Premiership final... Quite incredible. Off for a lie down in a darkened room to prepare for another 40 minutes of madness in the second half...
    • - Incredible stuff - the penalty at the end makes it 16-5 to Leicester. Northampton had the Tigers on the rack for the last 20 minutes of that half, but now they must surely end up on the losing side after getting their hooker sent off.
    • - You have to say that Northampton have been asking for that - the open dissent after the TMO decision was very close to the line, and Barnes had warned Hartley about dissent just moments before the red card incident.
    • 40'+1 LEICESTER 16-5 NORTHAMPTON AT HALF TIME! Ford takes the penalty and adds three simple points from dead in front - but what a twist at the end!
    • 40'+1 RED CARD FOR DYLAN HARTLEY! UNBELIEVABLE! Barnes turns the scrum into a penalty for an infraction, and Hartley clearly loses the plot and makes an abusive comment at the referee. Instant red for the England forward!
    • 40'+1 Scratch that! The players head for the tunnel, but Wayne Barnes has spotted something and calls them back for a scrum. The half-time dancers were on the pitch already!
    • 40' It's a long one for Ford and his effort comes up a few yards short. Saints clear into touch and that's the end of the half.
    • 39' Leicester win another scrum, then a penalty as it scrum collapses - Dan Cole is bossing opposite number Tonga'uiha up front - and Ford will have a go at goal.
    • 38' Northampton collect the ball from Ford's clearance and try to run it straight back - it's a good move right up until a forward pass out to Pisi on the wing is spotted by a touch judge.
    • 37' Danger over for Saints as they knock the ball on, then turn the scrum into a free kick with the usual random scrummaging infringement.
    • 36' Northampton straight back into the 22m after the drop-out, desperate to keep their momentum after getting on top.
    • 35' NO TRY! Northampton and Foden outraged, Foden totally furious - clearly hadn't realised that his feet had been out of touch otherwise he wouldn't argue that one.
    • 35' TMO Graham Hughes still trying to decide - it's complicated by Foden's foot also going out of play as he tried to get it down... Looks like a probable no...
    • 35' IS THAT A TRY FOR NORTHAMPTON? Foden picks up the pass from Elliott as he's finally bundled into touch - but does he get it down? Seems to be grounded, but certainly not in the first few moments afer he's hauled down. Looked like he stopped before getting it down - an amazing try-saving tackle by Kitchener if that proves so.
    • 34' It's been an incident-packed half of rugby - both teams have had good chances - but what's this? Another great break on for Saints as Elliott takes up the running...
    • 33' Lovely break by Goneva for the Tigers from the restart - but after breaking four tackles he gets complacent and has the ball pickpocketed by Burrell. Great counter-attack ensues, and a try only avoided when Pisi is pushed into touch 12m out on the right hand side.
    • 32' LEICESTER 13-5 NORTHAMPTON - Ford will never have three easier points than those, and he makes no mistake.
    • 32' Great back-up for Tait there as the Tigers come flooding up behind him - but Northampton kill the ball to end the danger. It's a penalty under the posts, but Leicester will regret not making a try - there were four unmarked men out wide at the final breakdown...
    • 31' Amazing break by Tait for Leicester, out of nothing - he beats four men and makes 60m before being hauled down 10m short of the line!
    • 30' Flood's place is taken by George Ford, incidentally. No pressure, son, no pressure...
    • 29' TOBY FLOOD RULED OUT OF REST OF THE MATCH - Very sad news, the fly-half had started in great form before those two tackles by Lawes. Outrageously cynical rugby from Lawes and Saints to take him out like that, but since when wasn't that kind of thing part of the game?
    • 28' The scrum breaks down and it's a penalty to Leicester - Tigers have a chance to clear the decks.
    • 27' Northampton fail to push over for a try, and as the scrum breaks down they refuse to use it - no doubt looking for the penalty. None comes, though, and Barnes declares a turnover ball for not using it.
    • 26' Ben Foden has picked up a foot injury in that move by the Saints - but he's soon back on his feet.
    • 26' Excellent quick recycling by Northampton and they're up to the line after half a dozen phases - they come up short but are given the scrum.
    • 25' Flood now stumbling off for concussion assessment - and now Northampton have a great opening.
    • 24' Northampton win the ball back after that latest tackle on Flood and push up on the left flank. They're in a good position as the ball goes off for a throw.
    • 23' Yikes again - Courtney Lawes once again tries to scythe Flood in two with an evil tackle. His timing is better this time, but the intent was equally unpleasant. This is nothing less than a blatant attempt to take Leicester's best player out of the equation.
    • 22' YIKES! Youngs's kick is a slow-motion car crash, not getting to within 10m of the posts.
    • 22' Flood is back on his feet, but looks pretty awful - and he's not even taking the shot at goal. Ben Youngs will do the honours instead.
    • 21' Leicester boss Richard Cockerill is outraged - like anyone in the stadium not wearing Northampton colours, he can't understand how a foul play penalty that could end a player's match doesn't result in a yellow card.
    • 21' Flood still down for treatment - only a penalty and no yellow for Lawes. He's given the benefit of the doubt on the timing of the tackle, despite the replay showing that he didn't even start his dive until after Flood had passed.
    • 21' Replays show a vile tackle by Lawes on Toby Flood - very late, and extremely violent, and he nearly cut Floody in half!
    • 21' Something going on here - Courtney Lawes has done something evil spotted only by the touch judge.
    • 20' Leicester keep pushing forward and send it out wide to the right, but the ball was a bit slow and they are shepherded into touch.
    • 19' Northampton really giving out a battering up front - Croft nearly gets his head knocked off after taking a line-out ball there.
    • 18' Looked like it was opening up once agani for Northampton there after a great break by Foden, but Flood nips in with a brilliant interception.
    • 16' Myler can't land the conversion from the left touchline, but Northmapton have made a massive statement of intent with that try. 10-5, game on.
    • 15' TRY FOR SAINTS! Northampton regain the ball after Leicester's scrum, then spin it out wide quickly before there's a penalty called. It's really sharp, quick one from Dickson, who offloads to Burrell who in turn delivers a killer pass for Myler to go in at the corner! What a response!
    • 14' Saints push forward after winning their throw in, and push forward up the right flank, edging closer to the line. They can't quite get over before Myler knocks on.
    • 13' Tuilagi charges in trying to batter his way through the line, but hangs on in the tackle - penalty given away to the Saints, attack over.
    • 12' Free kick now to Leicester as Saints infringe in the scrum... good chance opening up.
    • 11' Tigers already on the front foot again as Northampton winger Elliott spills a high ball to gift a scrum.
    • 10' No team has ever recovered to win from a deficit of more than three points in a Premiership final... Bad omen for Northampton, that. We'll see either history in the making or an annihilation on the evidence so far.
    • 9' 10-0 TO LEICESTER! It's a tough kick for Flood as Morris only touched down 10m in from the touchline, but the ball curves just inside the right upright. What a start for the Tigers!
    • 8' FANTASTIC TRY FOR LEICESTER! Goneva times his run perfectly, offloads to Allen to keep the momentum going, and the final pass out to Morris on the wing couldn't be more perfect as the Tigers get the first try of the match. Wonderful stuff.
    • 7' Leicester keep the ball and come forward - and it's a great opening created by Goneva as he's released by Flood...
    • 6' Questionable tackle on Flood as he appears to be taken in the air soon after the restart, but BArnes waves play on.
    • 5' 3-0 TO LEICESTER! Simple one for Flood - dead in front, barely 30m out - and it's hit absolutely dead centre.
    • 4' First chance comes for Leicester - a penalty just outside the 22m for not letting the man roll away.
    • 3' Ben Foden calls for a mark as Leicester kick deep, then boots it deep into the Tigers' half. Cagey stuff so far.
    • 2' Tigers win the first throw in but it's very, very wonky indeed - Saints get the scrum... but that's soon turned into a free kick for Leicester for an early push.
    • 1' And we're under way at Twickenham! Leicester captain Toby Flood wins the toss and chooses to kick off.
    • 14:58 Wayne Barnes is the referee today.
    • 14:57 No late surprises on the teams: Leicester Tigers: Tait; Morris, Tuilagi, Allen, Goneva; Flood (capt), Ben Youngs; Mulipola, Tom Youngs, Cole; Kitchener, Parling; Croft, Salvi, Crane. //// Northampton Saints: Foden; Ken Pisi, Wilson, Burrell, Elliott; Myler, Dickson; Tonga'uiha, Hartley (capt), Mujati; Lawes, Day; Dowson, Wood, Manoa.
    • 14:55 The players are in the tunnel and preparing to run out into the cauldron that is Twickenham, in fine weather at the South West London stadium.
    • 14:50 The Tigers are red-hot favourites mainly thanks to a 36-8 win away at Northampton just a few weeks ago - but our blogger says that it's anything but a foregone conclusion.
    • 14:45 Northampton, meanwhile, are set to enjoy a first ever Premiership final appearance - but Ben Foden says that the Saints' motivation will come from their agonising Heineken Cup final defeat by Leicester after leading by 16 at half-time two years ago. "There is always a point to prove," he says.
    • 14:40 Leicester come into the match as clear favourites after a blistering finish to the season, and fly-half Toby Flood admits he wants to put things right after the last two years: "The last couple of trips to Twickenham have been disappointing. We haven't done ourselves justice... It certainly leaves a bitter taste in your mouth."
    • 14:35 Leicester are in the final for an amazing ninth consecutive year - and having lost out in the last two finals they will be itching to make amends this afternoon.
