    • - Thanks for joining us for this game. Join us again for coverage of Scotland v England which kicks off at 5pm UK time!
    • 80'+2 FULL TIME. FRANCE 30-12 ITALY. Parra punts to touch to bring the opening game of the 2012 Six Nations to a close with victory for Les Bleus.
    • 80'+1 Italy one last chance to run the ball in from deep...
    • 80' So close for Italy! One-handed offload from Botes inside to D'Apice who can't get hold of the ball. A shame!
    • 79' Italy making one last push for the French line as full time nears...
    • 76' Almost a sniff of a try for Italy as Semenzato springs from the base of a scrum and almost catches Medard sleeping down the blindside. He's dragged into touch just in time!
    • 76' Some more changes are made for both sides as we head into the final four minutes...
    • 74' Yachvili misses with the conversion, so it remains 30-12 to Les Bleus.
    • 72' FRANCE 30-12 ITALY. Try Fofana!! He scores on his debut! Great finish as play is spread to the left and the centre holds off a challenge from McLean to go over in the corner.
    • 71' Geldenhuys goes to the bin for bringing down the maul as France push for the try-line...
    • 70' France put the penalty into touch inside Italy's half. Lineout for the hosts, they drive and they're metres from the try-line...
    • 69' Italy with the put-in at a scrum, and France win a penalty as Italy fail to bind properly.
    • 66' Nice play from France as they counter from deep, Fofana just bundled out of touch when almost free down the left.
    • 65' Italy have perked up again and now have the ball. Their forwards drive forward, but then possession is turned over and France almost counter with a kick forward. Lineout for Italy inside their own half.
    • 63' An Italian attack frustratingly breaks down as McLean fumbles a pass. France come away with it, a kick clear sets up a lineout for the home side on halfway.
    • 62' Italy turn over a French attack and punt forward, winning a penalty in French territory. Another round of changes for either side take place in the break in play.
    • 60' FRANCE 25-12 ITALY. Botes, on as a replacement for Burton shortly before, kicks a penalty for Italy.
    • 57' France piling on the pressure and pushing what looks a tiring Italy further back into their own half.
    • 56' France with the wind in their sails now, and they're asking more questions of Italy. A slew of changes for both sides now being made.
    • 55' FRANCE 25-9 ITALY. Yachvili converts and France hold a healthy lead now.
    • 54' FRANCE 23-9 ITALY. Try for Clerc! Poor from Italy, who try to pass the ball in too tight a space and lose possession. Trinh-Duc chips over the Italian line, Rougerie chases and knees the ball on, and Clerc gathers and crosses the line unopposed.
    • 52' FRANCE 18-9 ITALY. Yachvili makes no mistake this time and France extend their lead.
    • 52' Lo Cicero fails to roll away on the ground and gives France a penalty within kicking range.
    • 50' Yachvili misses a penalty attempt for France, and there's a change for France as Maestri replaces Nallet.
    • 49' Italy turn it over though and clear into the French half. France come back at them. A lively passage here...
    • 48' Malzieu beasts his way forward and breaks an Italian tackle or two as France heap on the pressure...
    • 47' FRANCE 15-9 ITALY. Burton makes it, and reduces the gap with the first points of the second half.
    • 46' Penalty to Italy as Rougerie gets pulled up. Burton will go for goal...
    • 45' Picamoles stays down for a minute or two after taking a full one on the nose. He's up soon enough. Made of tougher stuff these rugby lads...
    • 44' Italy breach the French defence as McLean breaks! Some last-gasp defending from Rougerie produces a sound tackle to halt McLean!
    • 43' Burton just comes up short with a penalty attempt. It had the accuracy, just not the legs...
    • 41' KICK OFF. The second half is underway...
    • - Well, just to clear up, it's FRANCE 15-6 ITALY as Yachvili did not make that conversion! Looked like he did!
    • 40'+1 HALF TIME. FRANCE 17-6 ITALY. Two tries to none for the hosts, who have made their chances count with some clinical finishing.
    • 40' Italy with a final drive in the last minute of the half, but France ruin it by clearing once more...
    • 39' Italy on the attack but they're coming up against a resolute French defensive line, so a kick is the selected method. Clerc collects easily, wasteful from Italy who for the most part of this half have been patient and well measured in their approach.
    • 37' France give away a needless penalty at a lineout with a push.
    • 36' FRANCE 17-6 ITALY. Yachvili adds the extras to extend France's lead. Devastating stuff from the French, and great play from Picamoles and Malzieu.
    • 35' FRANCE 15-6 ITALY. TRY FOR MALZIEU! And what a beauty! France win the ball off Italy's put in, Picamoles steps off the base and feeds Malzieu, who marvellously hands off two tackles, steps inside another, hands off one more and gets over the line. A superb finish!
    • 34' Yachvili knocks on with France in possession and trying to drill through the Italian line. Good pressure from the visitors, less than six minutes to half time, and Italy have the put-in.
    • 32' Italy engineering a drive forward with their pack doing the donkey work. It breaks down though as Burton cuts inside to meet a legion of French defenders, and he fails to release. France clear deep into Italian territory.
    • 30' FRANCE 10-6 ITALY. Burton converts it and the gap is four points now in France's favour.
    • 28' Penalty for Italy, and they'll go for the three points to try and close the gap...
    • 27' France trying to breach the Italian line, Trinh-Duc attempts to punt forward but slices his kick. The balance of play just starting to swing the French team's way...
    • 25' France struggle at their own put-in, with Italy hounding Yachvili at the base. Trinh-Duc takes the pressure off with a good punt clear, but Italy come right back at them...
    • 23' Unlucky for Burton! Straight from the re-start Burton puts a lovely little grubber through the French centre pairing but knocks on when gathering... That would've been a delightful try, and it looked like he had an almost clear run in!
    • 22' FRANCE 10-3 ITALY. Yachvili converts.
    • 21' FRANCE 8-3 ITALY. Try Rougerie! The centre exploits a gap in the Italian defence to score the game's first try, and it must be said it's come against the run of play!
    • 20' A momentary slip up from Italy as they give away possession to France, and the home side edge it forward...
    • 19' Impressive stuff from Italy so far, who have shaded possession and territory and are not afraid to test the French resolve with phase play.
    • 18' FRANCE 3-3 ITALY. Burton drops a goal to level the score. Great play from the Italians.
    • 18' Big hit from Rougerie on Burton as Italy try to push on. Italy patient and playing the phases...
    • 17' A bit of kick-tennis between the backs and there's some broken field play... All a bit disjointed...
    • 15' Quick ball out of the scrum for France but they can't shift it forward fast enough. Second scrum, with the put-in for France.
    • 14' Italy playing very patiently, building things slowly and working it forward with their pack. France defend the next surge well and win the put-in at a scrum.
    • 12' FRANCE 3-0 ITALY. Yachvili converts a penalty won by Malzieu after the winger's burst forward down the left side, and France take the lead.
    • 10' Malzieu almost comes a cropper with a kick forward from Italy which bounces awkwardly inside his 22, but the French winger gathers and skips clear, running the ball upfield and eventually being brought down in Italy's half.
    • 9' France disrupt the Italian put-in and come away with the ball. Some poor handling sees the ball dropped and then hacked clear, and Italy are able to come back at France.
    • 8' Italy win a penalty inside France's half and take the scrum...
    • 6' France defending well. So far everything Italy have tried has been repelled and France win the turnover...
    • 5' Some nice forward play from Italy as they drive the French back inside Les Bleus' own half...
    • 4' Penalty for Italy as Mas fails to bind properly in the scrum and Italy clear well into France's half...
    • 3' Yachvili plays a forward pass as he tries to instigate a French attack, and Italy have the put-in at the first scrum of the game.
    • 2' France make it into the Italian 22 with the first passage of play of the game. The French forwards win the first tete-a-tete and the ball is spread across the French back line. Medard chips forward and Italy have the lineout.
    • 1' GAME ON. Italy get us underway...
    • 14:30 Here we go then... Kick off is imminent...
    • 14:28 Italy national anthem done... Such a great national anthem. Now for La Marseillaise...
    • 14:25 Five minutes to kick off at Stade de France...
    • 14:20 More changes for Italy, with seven made to the side that lost to Ireland at the World Cup. The back line features debutant Venditti, a centre pairing of Tommaso Benvenutti and Alberto Sgarbi, Luke McLean on the left wing and Edoardo Gori and Kris Burton forming the scrum-half/fly-half axis…
    • 14:15 Five changes to the French side which lined up for the start of the 2011 World Cup final… Fofana debuts at centre as previously mentioned, Julien Malzieu is on the left wing, Francois Trinh-Duc starts at fly-half, Vincent Debaty comes in at loosehead prop and Louis Picamoles takes up the number eight jersey…
    • 14:10 Two debutants on the field today, with Wesley Fofana at centre for France having never represented Les Bleus at any level prior to this appearance. For Italy the wonderfully named Giombattista Venditti collects his first cap for the Azzurri on the wing…
    • 14:05 So it's tournament favourites hosting tournament underdogs, but let's not forget (as if we could) that Italy scored their first ever win over France in this competition last year… France have won their last eight Six Nations games at Stade de France though…
    • 14:00 Good afternoon and welcome to LIVE commentary of the Six Nations opener between France and Italy, which kicks off at 2.30pm UK time in Paris...
