    Time:80'
    • Italy
    • Russia
    • FT Russia spill the ball and Barnes blows for full-time. Russia have been competitive and shown impressive tackling in particular as Italian handling errors cost them slightly
    • 80' Russia make the interception but it's in their own half and they will struggle to get their fourth, bonus-point winning try from here
    • 78' Yet another missed kick by Italy. It's been a poor kicking display by the Italians today
    • 77' TRY ITALY! 53-17! Substitute Zanni is the man who eventually crosses over for Italy but it was only a matter of time really as they were lining up to receive the ball from the back of the scrum
    • 75' Italy push for their half century of points as first Benvenuti and then McLean take the Russian back line on ... Italy get a scrum five ...
    • 72' Rachkov again misses the conversion but Russia will be looking for a fourth bonus point-winning try in the final eight minutes of this match
    • 71' TRY RUSSIA! 48-17! Alexei Makovetsky gets in on the act! Russia create a huge overlap on the left wing which Shakirov spots, putting up a huge looping pass that creates the try
    • 70' Russia kick upfield before turning the ball over deep in Italian territory, just 10m short of the line ...
    • 66' Russia have an attacking lineout and look for the drive but its a poor lineout and Italy steal the ball before attempting a breakaway. Russia pull them back but they have been pushed back into their own half
    • 64' Benvenuti misses his second kick at the posts but it won't matter to the outcome of this match. It must be a bit of a worry for Nick Mallett though that both his go-to kickers have not fired at all today
    • 63' TRY ITALY! 48-12! Luke McLean, who qualifies through his Italian grandmother, takes on the ball before sprinting away down the left wing and touching down with ease.
    • 60' Castrogiovanni makes a run before being brought down but not before offloading. Italy retain possession and recycle the ball wide but the 5'4" Alexander Shakirov brings down a man almost twice his side and draws the penalty as Italy fail to release!
    • 56' A couple of changes for Italy as Gori and skipper Parisse come off
    • 53' Like Benvenuti just a couple of minutes ago, Rachkov pulls his kick just wide of the left upright and Russia will have to be contend without the conversion
    • 52' TRY RUSSIA! 43-12! Great try from Russia as they create the overlap on the right wing, spreading the ball out wide from the re-start before Ostroushko takes it on and runs past two Italians to touch down. Fantastic work from Russia
    • 50' Benvenuti takes over kicking duties from Bocchino but he's fare much better as he also pulls his conversion kick wide, thumping it almost out of the ground in the process!
    • 49' TRY ITALY! 43-7! Benvenuti just gets his second try of the night kicking through the Russian defence before racing after it. He dives to the ground with two arms out before realising he won't get it like that and instead stretching out one arm and just touching the ball before both he and it skid out beyond the dead ball line
    • 46' Ongaro is not going to come back on even though his time in the bin is now over, being replaced by Zanni
    • 45' Russia on the attack again as they use the final few moments of Ongaro's sinbinning. Yanyushkin breaks through and gets his side to within 10 metres but again offside lets them down - Grachev running into Vladislav Korshunov and Adam Byrnes
    • 43' Russia get a little unlucky as a poor pass from Yanyushkin bounces off the shins of one of his team-mates and goes forward, creating an accidental offside for the guy outside him. Italy will have a scrum in Russian territory
    • 41' Italy get the second half underway ...
    • - Dont forget that we have a webchat coming up later on today with the IRB Sevens Player of the Year in 2009 and Stade Francais winger Ollie Phillips. It'll be LIVE at 11am (UK time). You can post your questions by clicking here and going to the bottom of the page.
    • HT So Italy are firmly in control of this clash at the half-time interval. It just remains to be seen whether they can keep up their level of concentration in the second half or if they let Russia back into things
    • 40' Russia get deep into Italian territory after a kick up the middle of the field. But the ball gets lost in the bottom of a ruck and referee Wayne Barnes decides that that's enough for the first half
    • 36' CONVERSION ITALY! 38-7! Bocchino is not going to miss from right in front of the posts and sure enough he adds another two points to the Italian's tally, converting their sixth try
    • 35' TRY ITALY! 36-7! Pretty much right from the re-start, Italy force the scrum before running away and re-establishing their lead. Gori this time is the man to touch down, receiving the ball in the middle of the park before handing off a couple of tackles and crossing in between the posts
    • 34' CONVERSION RUSSIA! 31-7! Rachkov adds the conversion from just to the left of the uprights to maximise the score for the Russians. Can they keep this up while they have the extra man on the field?
    • 34' TRY RUSSIA! 31-5! With one man extra on the field, Russia exploit the gap with numbers on the left wing and replacement Alexander Yanyushkin crosses over for Russia's first score
    • 33' Ongaro is very harshly sent to the sin-bin after Klyuchnikov goes down injured. The Russian fullback got hit on the head by the ball after failing to collect it and Ongaro tackled him immediately after. The Italian hooker was already committed and it wasn't an illegal tackle but Barnes has decided it was late so he's off to the bin
    • 32' Russia make a break for the first time! Andrei Garbuzov is the man to make the break but Italy pull him down. Russia retain possession but eventually the move breaks down ...
    • 28' CONVERSION ITALY! 31-0! Another success kick from Bocchino from right in front of the posts. Italy are working on the rate of just over a point a minute at the moment and Russia simply have nothing in response
    • 27' PENALTY TRY ITALY! 29-0! The Russian scrum has been under a massive amount of pressure since the start and finally it's too much, both sides of the scrum collapsing three times in a row that results in a penalty try for Italy
    • 26' Italy come very close to a fifth try, first Vladimir Ostroushko producing a try-saving tackle on McLean and then Fabio Ongaro producing a shockingly poor pass on the opposite wing when he had two free men outside him. Great work from Parisse in between though
    • 24' CONVERSION ITALY! 24-0! This time Bocchino does add the extra two points, Benevuti having touched down in between the posts. Italy are just toying with Russia now and they already have the bonus points
    • 23' TRY ITALY! 22-0! Benenuti receives the ball before skipping through one tackle and exploiting a huge hole in the Russian defence. The Italian winger has plenty of speed to run away from the Russians and he swallow-dives over the line for his second try and Italy's fourth!
    • 20' Russia are beginning to settle into the match now and put a few phases together before Bears knocks on inside the Italian 22 and wastes the last three minutes of effort
    • 17' Ouch! Bocchino is having a shocking day with the boot from the spot as he misses his third in four attempts. Those points shouldn't matter too much today but he's not going to retain kicking duties like this
    • 16' TRY ITALY! 17-0! Benvenuti picks up the loose ball after an error from Russian fullback Klyuchnikov and crosses over without any trouble for the Azzurri's third try of the day
    • 15' Italy are all over Russia and this could be quite a slaughter if they keep this up. Italy recycle the ball through a number of phases before Bocchino boots upfield ...
    • 13' Bocchino pulls his admittedly tricky kick wide across the front of the posts and the conversion goes begging
    • 13' TRY ITALY! 12-0! Italy spread the ball wide once again and this time it's Giulio Toniolatti who touches down, right in the corner. Barnes goes to the TMO to check Toniolatti wasn't in touch when he actually got the ball down but he wasn't and that's another try to Italy
    • 11' Italy spread the ball wide and are only 10m out from the line but a high pass from Parisse to Bocchino slows things down ... Italy spead the ball back the other way before going to ground. But Russia and more specifically Vyacheslav Grachev turn the ball over in the counter ruck. It'll be an Italian scrum though as Russia did that illegally ...
    • 10' Italy driving for the tryline again as they collect one of their own lineouts on the 22. Bocchino to Benvenuti ...
    • 7' CONVERSION ITALY! 7-0! This time Gori is on target with his kick from just to the right of the posts and Italy have the two points from the conversion
    • 6' TRY ITALY! 5-0! That's a very well constructed try as Bocchino finds skipper Parisse, who runs in on the angle for the first try of the day ...
    • 5' Russia have barely had any possession in the first five minutes as Italy make their way up to the 22. Russia are penalised for not releasing in the tackle and this time Italy kick for the corner and the lineout ...
    • 2' Italy get an early kick at the posts when Russia are penalised for playing the ball off their feet in the ruck but the young fly-half Riccardo Bocchino pulls his kick wide
    • 1' Russia get the clash underway ...
    • - The referee for today’s match will be England’s Wayne Barnes. After taking up refereeing at the age of just 15, Wayne Barnes has enjoyed rapid progress through the ranks. The 32-year-old Barnes has the honour of being the youngest referee at the tournament. What else do you know about the Englishman? Click here to see our rundown of his career so far.

    • - Russia are ranked 19th at this year’s World Cup, above only Namibia. They were narrowly beaten by the USA in their first clash last week and will solid in defence if nothing else today. For all things Russian, click here for our team guide.
    • - The key man for Italy is usually skipper Sergio Parisse. The lynchpin of the Italian team for many a year and would walk into most other international sides with his outstanding handling skills and lineout ability. • - Russia have never beaten Italy in their three previous meetings. Italy’s biggest win was a 67-7 scoreline back in 2006 but the Azzurri have improved massively in recent years under current coach Nick Mallett and even beat France earlier this year in their Six Nations clash
