    • FT USA kick across the field for Takudzwa Ngwenya sets off on the chase. He can't quite get there before the ball drills out though and that will be the end of the match
    • 80' The clock has ticked over into extra time just as Italy turn the ball over deep in their own half. Can they create one last move? A spot of magic perhaps?
    • 77' Collision in the air and Blaine Scully goes down injured causing a delay to play with just three minutes left on the clock. Italy will also have a penalty to clear their half as Todd Clever is penalised for obstruction
    • 72' Mirco Bergamasco hobbles off to be replaced by a flanker, Toniolatti, as Italy have used up all their back substitutions. That'll be a concern for Italy heading into the clash with Ireland on Sunday
    • 70' The USA make their way up to the Italian 22 as they push for a little magic to end this match ... Roland Suniula puts the chip across field ... but McLean just touches down before Paterson gets there
    • 67' CONVERSION ITALY! 27-10! An easy conversion for Mirco Bergamasco from right in front of the posts and they must surely take the game out of reach for the US
    • 67' PENALTY TRY ITALY! 25-10! Finally Clancy has had enough. Italy force their way towards the line with a huge push, the American scrum collapses and it will be a penalty try to Italy. That secures the bonus point for the Azzurri
    • 66' The video footage is inconclusive once again and it will be another Italian scrum five. Will they push over the line this time ...
    • 65' Italy kick upfield and go for the lineout/drive ... they force the ball over the line but have they got it down? The decision will go up to the TMO once again ...
    • 63' The US are a little lucky not to find themselves two men down as line judge Wayne Barnes informs Clancy of a penalty against Blaine Scully. Scully put his knee into Mirco Bergamasco's chest off the ball and concedes the penalty. Bergamasco also gets a little talking to about retaliating
    • 63' Ngwenya breaks for the USA. Just as the US look they are working their way back into this match there is a scuffle on the right wing ...
    • 62' Parisse breaks for Italy but fails to get the pass off before being hauled down and Italy lose the ball
    • 61' The US steal the lineout and eventually clear down the line. Only as far as McLean though and Italy run it again. Bergamasco chips upfield but Ngwenya is super speedy for the US and easily gets back to touch down behind his own tryline
    • 60' This time the ball dows come out of the scrum but a pass goes astray and it will be an Italian lineout 10m out ...
    • 59' Another penalty is conceded by the US at the scrum and, having only just been warned, they find themselves a man down when Louis Stanfill is sent to the bin
    • 59' Again the US scrum breaks down. Italy call for the scrum once again. It is too far out for a penalty try but Clancy could send someone to the sin bin. He has a chat with Todd Clever about "far roo many penalties" being awarded against the US
    • 58' Matekitonga Moeakiola is sent off to the blood bin once again with Shawn Pittman coming back on. Italy put on a huge (revenge) drive in he scrum and earn themselves another penalty when the USA fail to release the ball. Parisse immediately yells "scrum, scrum"
    • 56' Bad decision from Italy this time as they earn themselves a turnover ball when Italy fail to use the ball before the scrum goes round 90 degrees
    • 55' The American scrum breaks down again and Italy go for a second chance ...
    • 54' Italy will go for the try, choosing the scrum from about 10m out ...
    • 53' Italy are so close to a fourth try as first Parisse and then Ghiraldini take the ball on ... and they get a penalty when Emerick is caught offside. Will Italy go for the three points or the bonus point?
    • 49' American turn the ball over and Clever clears. Only as far as McLean though and Benvenuti breaks again. He runs straight into Emerick, smack hard into Emerick, and loses the ball in the process ...
    • 48' Benvenuti takes a step inside before offloading to Gonzalo Garcia, great hands from Garcia .... Castrogiovanni once again ... out to the left wing ... the American defence is holding firm ...
    • 46' Wyles comes storming up to collect a high ball but it brought straight down by a heavy hit from Parisse, who takes a head to the stomach as repayment!
    • 44' Mike Petri puts up a neat kick across field for Emerick ... Emerick very nearly gets there but has to chuck the ball back in field to stop it from going into touch but he knocks on
    • 43' The USA have started the second half strongly. First Petrie, then MacDonald, then Stanfill taking the ball on ...
    • 41' Luciano Orquera gets the second half underway for Italy ...
    • HT That was the last kick of the half as it turns out and Italy go in 20-10 ahead with three tries already to their name.
    • 40+1' Once again Mirco Bergamasco cannot quite land his kick, the conversion going begging as the ball drifts just wide of the right post from the right wing. But Italy, who really need a bonus point from this match as well as to beat Ireland if they are to stay alive in this tournament, now have three tries
    • 40' TRY ITALY! 20-10! Castrogiovanni will not be denied this time as he picks up the ball from McLean and forces his way over the line
    • 40' Orquera puts up a looping pass out wide to Benvenuti on the right wing. It's a poor pass but Benvenuti does well to keep the ball in and find McLean inside him ...
    • 39' Parisse breaks from the back of the scrum this time ... Semenzato ... Orquera ... the Italians are streaming over to the right to create the overlap ...
    • 39' The American pack is enduring a torrid time in the scrum and Clancy re-sets twice before handing Italy a penalty ... Italy chose a third scrum ...
    • 37' There's a bit of a scrap for George Clancy to sort out, telling both captains to talk to their men, before the TMO decides that video footage is inconclusive and Clancy gives a scrum five to Italy
    • 37' Semenzato again makes the break. He gets hauled down just short by Moeakiola and, after thinking about stretching out for the line, recycles to Leonardo Ghiraldini, who goes over the line. The decision will go to the TMO ...
    • 36' The USA clear but the pressure is relentless as first Ghiraldini and then Castrogiovanni make inroads into American territory. Mauro Bergamasco shows great hands to collect the ball but Italy will come back for a penalty for offside ...
    • 34' Parisse finds Semenzato from the back of a scrum on the halfway line. Semenzato runs a few metres and then chips upfield. There's no way he can chase it but it is a decent kick that will put the USA under pressure in a defensive lineout ...
    • 32' Mirco Bergasmasco fails to add the extras this time as he pulls his kick across the front of the goal and wide of the right post
    • 31' TRY ITALY! 15-10! The Italian midfield offers decoys after a drive for the line and the USA lose sight of the ball carrier - Luciano Orquera darts inside into a huge hole and over the line
    • 29' Chris Billa is forced to go off, holding his ribs, and Phil Thiel will come on in his place as Italy get a penalty when Nic Johnson is caught playing the ball off his feet. Italy kick for touch ...
    • 28' PENALTY USA! 10-10! Another successful kick from Chris Wyles, albeit from right in front of the posts, and the USA are back level once more
    • 27' The American scrum is pushed back once again but Luciano Orquera is caught offside for Italy and the US will have a chance to level up ...
    • 26' Emerick ... Takudzwa Ngwenya ... Mike Petri ... knock-on USA but accidental and it'll be an American scrum
    • 25' The US lose the ball backwards but it is picked up by Mike MacDonald, who uses all of his weight to force his way 10m through the Italian line ... Andrew Suniula finds MacDonald again out on the right wing ... USA up to within 10m of the line
    • 23' PENALTY ITALY! 10-7! Sure enough Mirco Bergamasco does put his side ahead once again as he lands the kick from just to the right of the posts
    • 23' Fabio Semenzato is barely interested in the ball as the Italians hammer the USA in the scrum and earn themselves a chance to sneak ahead once again when the USA's front line collapses
    • 19' CONVERSION USA! 7-7! THE US ARE BACK LEVEL! Wyles converts his own try with a kick from right in front of the posts. A deserved score from the US as they have really got back into this match in the last 10 minutes
    • 18' TRY USA! 7-5! Great ball from the lineout from Clever sets up the try before Emerick runs hard straight throught the Italian defensive line. He gets to within five metres before offloading to his fullback Wyles out side him
    • 16' The USA win themselves another penalty, just inside the halfway line, when Italy are penalised for not rolling away ...
    • 14' Todd Clever looks to force his way through but is foiled by the strong Italian defence. The US retain possession, albeit further back than they were, but they then spill the ball forward and Italy will have a defensive scrum just inside the 22
    • 12' The USA make their first real break through the Italian line as Wyles has a run. They are still in their own half but eventually get a penalty on the halfway line when Salvatore Perugini is penalised for not rolling away. Unsurprisingly, the US kick for territory ...
    • 10' Nic Johnson goes quickly off the back of the scrum but spills the ball in the first tackle and Italy regain possession just outside the 22 ...
    • 9' Italy break from the back of the lineout ... Parisse the man to take the ball through the centre of the field. McLean put up a great kick for Benvenuti to chase and although the winger gets through and keeps the ball in as he dives down to the try line he can't quite control it enough to get the try. The TMO confirms that and that it is an American defensive scrum five
    • 8' And Matekitonga Moeakiola will also have to go off, at least temporarily, to the blood bin as he has claret pouring down his head. Shawn Pittman will come on as his replacement
    • 8' There's a bit of a delay as John van der Giessen receives some treatment to his ankle after a collision with Parisse under the high ball
    • 6' The US look to bounce back with a better attack of their own, making it up to the Italian 22m line but Italy turn the ball over and make it back up to the half-way line
    • 4' CONVERSION ITALY! 7-0! An easy conversion kick for Mirco Bergasmasco as skipper Parisse touched down in between the posts. And Italy are off the mark already ...
    • 3' TRY ITALY! 5-0! The perfect start from Italy as Parrisse runs through a huge gap in the stretched American defence and runs over the line with ease
    • 3' Italy are all over the USA in the first three minutes as they get to within five metres of the line, mainly through Mirco Bergamasco, who comes up with two great offloads in the tackle ...
    • 1' The USA get the match underway through the boot of Roland Suniula ...
