  1. - - NADAL 4-6 1-6 6-1 3-6 - GAME, SET & MATCH - The Serb collapses to the floor as he wins his third Grand Slam when Rafa sends a forehand long down the line off a shorter ball

  2. - - NOVAK DJOKOVIC IS WIMBLEDON CHAMPION FOR THE FIRST TIME

  3. - - NADAL 4-6 1-6 6-1 3-5 30-40 - Djokovic does earn himself a FIRST CHAMPIONSHIP POINT with a spot of serve and volley, a big serve out wide followed by a sliced backhand volley winner across court …

  4. - - NADAL 4-6 1-6 6-1 3-5 30-30 - The first point goes astray for Djokovic as he hits a forehand approach shot wide across court. He gets the second though when Rafa shanks a forehand long and the third when Rafa goes for a change-of-direction off-forehand into the net. Rafa levels up at 30 all with a big backhand that Djokovic can only return long. Gah! This is tense.

  5. - - NADAL 4-6 1-6 6-1 3-5 - BREAK - Rafa slaps down a double fault, his first of the match before sending a backhand wide across court. And another error, this time a forehand into the net after a lengthy rally, hands Djokovic THREE BREAK POINTS. Nadal saves the first with a forehand that simply couldn't been closer to the baseline but Djokovic does break at the second attempt when Rafa sends a backhand long across court. DJOKOVIC WILL SERVE FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP …

  6. - - NADAL 4-6 1-6 6-1 3-4 - A fantastic game from Djokovic as he holds to love, with a backhand volley down the line. It gives Nadal nothing, the Spaniard trying to create his own angle only to fire a backhand passing shot well wide across court

  7. - - NADAL 4-6 1-6 6-1 3-3 - Nadal is forced to battle back from 0-15 down on serve once again. But he is still serving at an impressively high percentage and goes on to earn himself two game points with a massive cross court backhand winner, the ball sitting right up into his wheelhouse as he belts it across court. The first goes begging but Nadal does level up with a great first serve that Nole can only return long

  8. - - NADAL 4-6 1-6 6-1 2-3 - Djokovic continues to look a little rattled as Nadal bounces back from 30-0 to 30 all with a series of huge forehands that result in Djokovic hitting long once and wide once. Nole works his way into the net on the next though and earns a game point after Rafa hits into the net. And Djokovic goes on to hold when Nadal sends a mis-hit looping forehand long

  9. - - NADAL 4-6 1-6 6-1 2-2 - Rafa takes time to run around the ball only to fire his attempted forehand down the line into the net. But he was already 40-0 so it doesn't cost him too much and he goes on to hold on the next point with a great first serve

  10. - - NADAL 4-6 1-6 6-1 1-2 - BREAK - Nadal once again increases the power on his ground-strokes and it immediately pays dividends as he earns himself a break back point when Djokovic sends an off-balance forehand long. And Nadal gets a fortuitous net cord when his back-sliced forehand return of serve, played practically on his knees, catches the top of the tape and literally rolls over for the perfect winner

  11. - - NADAL 4-6 1-6 6-1 0-2 - BREAK - A surprisingly cautious return from Djokovic, followed by a forehand into the net, allows Nadal off the mark from 0-30 down. But he quickly makes amends with a great off-forehand drop shot winner that Nadal cannot get up to. And Djokovic does go on to break after a ridiculously angled cross court exchange that eventually ends with a Rafa backhand into the net

  12. - - NADAL 4-6 1-6 6-1 0-1 - An inch-perfect slice backhand brings Djokovic to the net and Nadal then crashes a fierce forehand past the Serb. In the following rally, Nadal stays in the point despite being sent to all corners of the court and forces Djokovic into a regulation volley that he puts in the net. A huge forehand brings up break point. Nole comes up with tense overhead but pulls it off and the chance goes begging and he holds when Nadal sends a backhand just long (confirmed by hawkeye)

  14. - - NADAL 4-6 1-6 6-1 - SET - Nadal serves out the fourth set to love, a couple of forehand winners helping him to three set points before he works his way into the net and guides a forehand winner into the empty court. Djokovic didn't put too much into that game, and why would you? The set is gone and he should save his energy for the fourth (and possibly fifth) sets

  15. - - NADAL 4-6 1-6 5-1 - BREAK - Djokovic is spraying errors from all corners of the court now, the Serb finding himself two more break points down after a forehand into the net, a Nadal winner and a cross court forehand error. Djokovic saves the first with a simple forehand volley after pushing Rafa wide and the second with a great forehand down the line after a running round the ball. Nadal earns himself a third with some great length hitting and a double from Nole hands the game away

  16. - - NADAL 4-6 1-6 4-1 - Another pretty straightforward service hold goes the way of Nadal as he finds a couple of unreturnable serves and a forehand winner, to throw into the mix with a Djokovic forehand long of the baseline

  17. - - NADAL 4-6 1-6 3-1 - All of a sudden there are a few more errors springing from the Djokovic racquet as he hits a relatively routine forehand wide to hand Nadal the first point of the game. He recovers and sneaks into the lead after a Rafa error and with a couple of great serves and goes on to hold when Nadal tries the crowd-pleasing between-the-legs shot only to hit well wide

  18. - - NADAL 4-6 1-6 3-0 - This is definitely a shift in momentum going on on Centre Court just now as Rafa races through a love service hold to consolidate the break, three huge first serves causing Djokovic to hit long

  19. - - NADAL 4-6 1-6 2-0 - BREAK - Rafa is fist-pumping all over the place as he rattles another forehand winner down the line before catching the back of the line with a forehand on the next point, causing Djokovic to hit high up into the air but not very far forward. Novak recovers to 30 all with an unreturnable serve and an ace but Rafa gets a break point with a big backhand across court that Nole returns wide down the line. And Rafa does break, Djokovic netting a backhand. Rafa one for one on break

  20. - - NADAL 4-6 1-6 1-0 - There's definitely a lot of love for Nadal in the crowd right now, they want this match to continue for some time yet and they are rewarded as Rafa holds for the opening game of the third set with a forehand winner down the line. A solid, and confidence boosting, hold to 15 for Nadal there, Djokovic getting his one point with a blistering forehand return of serve winner

  21. - - NADAL 4-6 1-6 - SET - Djokovic serves out the set with no trouble whatsoever. His serving is immense so far today - this set he has had four aces, landed 80 per cent of his first serve and won 88 per cent points behind that first serve. While we're in stats corner, Nadal has landed 81 per cent of his first serve but has only won 46 per cent of points behind it. Great returning from Nole

  22. - - NADAL 4-6 1-5 - BREAK - Djokovic has Nadal on a string. The Serb earns himself a break point by working his way up to the net and eventually finding a forehand across court back behind Rafa, before going on to break by pushing the Spaniard back out on to the backhand wing and drawing the error on a shot down the line. The Serb will serve for the second set

  23. - - NADAL 4-6 1-4 - Djokovic holds once again with a forehand winner down the line, after Nadal had flicked an audacious backhand over the net for a passing shot winner. That shot would have been more at home on a squash court. But that's the only point Nadal gets as Djokovic pushes him around the baseline. Rafa is not reading the Serb's serve all that well today

  24. - - NADAL 4-6 1-3 - Nadal drops the first point behind serve once again but bounces back with consecutive aces. Djokovic then levels the horrendously missed smash stat (ok, we may have made that one up) at 1-1 by firing wide despite letting the ball bounce before hitting it. And Nadal goes on to hold with a fortuitous forehand passing shot that bounces up just above Nole's racquet as it whistles past him across court

  25. - - NADAL 4-6 0-3 - Nadal produces a fantastic forehand winner down the line, curling the ball just into the corner. He has a slip on the next, outside the court, and even though Nadal has lifted his level in this game but Djokovic has matched him shot for shot as he drills a backhand winner across court before holding with an ace

  26. - - NADAL 4-6 0-2 - BREAK - Rafa drops the first point behind serve as he loops a backhand just long after a cracking rally once again. The Spaniard made just seven unforced errors in his semi against Murray but has already made 11 today, which is credit to just how concerned he is about Djokovic's athleticism. Nole sets up two break points when Nadal sends a backhand into the net. But only one is needed as the Serb races up to a brilliant drop shot from Rafa before finding a backhand winner

  27. - - NADAL 4-6 0-1 - The ball bouncing increases hugely from Djokovic as he suddenly finds himself 0-30 down in the opening game of the second set after a forehand into the net and a net cord backhand winner from Nadal. The Serb battles back though and gets himself a game point when Rafa sends a smash well long after waiting an age for the ball to come down. Djokovic holds when Nadal sends a backhand long

  28. - - Novak sprints back to the chair and is also suitable bouncey when he comes back out to resume the match. That was a great set from the Serb, and from Nadal as well apart from about 90 seconds at the end of it

  29. - - NADAL 4-6 - SET - A ferocious cross court forehand from Djokovic comes out of nowhere and leaves Nadal rooted to the spot. And Nole goes on to level at 30-30, just two points from the first set, by rattling a forehand winner down the line. It's a set point for Nole shortly after as Nadal runs around the ball only to hit a forehand into the net. AND DJOKOVIC DOES GET THE FIRST SET when Nadal sends a spinning forehand just long down the line. What a game from Novak

  30. - - NADAL 4-5 - Djokovic holds once again to 15 with a third ace. Nadal takes a long look at the court, clearly thinking about challenging, but decides that the ball probably was just about it. The Serb now potentially just one game away from the first set although Nadal has missed just two first serves so far in this set

  31. - - NADAL 4-4 - Djokovic lets out an anguished yell as he stretched backhand down the line goes astray, which is a little harsh on himself as that was a huge ask from the position he was in. And the Serb is even more frustrated with himself, tapping the side of his head, after attempting a drop shot from behind the baseline, the ball ending in the net allowing Nadal to hold once again

  32. - - NADAL 3-4 - Great play from both men as Nadal shows that Djokovic is not the only one to possess insane defensive skills; the Spaniard scampering round the baseline and getting balls back that he really has no right too. But Djokovic wins the point in the end with a forehand smash winner and goes on to hold with another ace

  33. - - NADAL 3-3 - Djokovic desperately trying to get the ball on Rafa's backhand which is clearly a tactic today. And as soon as he does, Nadal hits just long to allow Novak back to 30-30. But the Spaniard bounces back with two great first serves, one that Djokovic can only return into the net and the second one that he simply cannot return

  34. - - NADAL 2-3 - Djokovic posts his easiest hold yet, sealing the game to love. The Serb opens the game with a great bit of anticipation, that has his box on their feet, as he leans down to his right to come up with a forehand half-volley winner across court on the angle. And he goes on to hold with a huge first serve that Rafa cannot return in play

  35. - - NADAL 2-2 - Another very solid service hold from Nadal, who is having a slightly easier time of it on serve that Djokovic so far. That said, there is clearly very little to choose between these two players in these first four games and there's a sense that they are testing each other out despite already having played in four finals this year

  36. - - NADAL 1-2 - Djokovic once again is pushed to 30-30 before going on to hold with a great forehand across court that Nadal can only return into the net from wide outside the tramlines. The Serb just being a little passive in a few points so far, letting Rafa get into both of his service games so far

  37. - - NADAL 1-1 - Nadal looks like he's cruising towards a love service hold before some epic defence from Djokovic sees the Spaniard pull a cross court forehand wide. But Rafa recovers immediately and holds for the loss of just that one point with a emphatic forehand volley winner

  38. - - NADAL 0-1 - A 20-odd stroke rally on just the second point of the game gives everyone watching a very clear indication as to what they can expect today, Rafa ending it with a 95mph forehand winner down the line. He repeats the trick on the next point but Djokovic recovers with an ace down the centre of the court and the Serb goes on to hold when Nadal hits a lopping forehand long of the baseline

  39. - - Here we go then, all the preparation is over and done with and it will be Djokovic to get this clash underway by serving first ...

  40. - - Nadal has won their last two meetings on grass, although there is no doubt that Djokovic is a different player this year than he has been in the previous few

  41. - - The players are out on court and are just about ready to go through the process of the toss and photos. Rafa has won the toss and opted to receive first, which he often does.

  42. - - It's perfect tennis weather today. It's about 22 degrees and although it started out this morning as very sunny it has clouded over since then. There's no sign of rain though so we shouldn't have too many worries on that front

  43. - - In fact Djokovic has never beaten Nadal in a major, although a number (three to be precise) of those meetings have been at Roland Garros, where only Robin Soderling has beaten Nadal

  44. - - These two have faced each other a whooping total of 27 times before with Rafa narrowly leading the head-to-heads by 16 wins to 11. Djokovic has won their last four meetings though, the Indian Wells, Miami, Madrid and Rome Masters finals. Nadal won their only other meeting in a Grand Slam final though, at the US Open last year

  45. - - This one should be a cracking match with both players on great form. Djokovic has only lost one match all season, that French Open semi-final to Roger Federer, while Nadal has regained his confidence that was waivering a little before Roland Garros by retaining his French Open crown

  46. - - Hello and welcome to LIVE coverage of the men's Wimbledon final between incumbent world number one Rafael Nadal, who also happens to be the defending champion, and the soon-to-be-crowned world number one Novak Djokovic
