  1. 6-2 - GAME, SET AND MATCH DJOKOVIC! A 6-3 6-2 win for Djokovic. Del Potro forces the game to deuce with a couple of swings from deep finding their range, but a forehand winner hands Djokovic his second match point before a blistering first serve seals the victory. Revenge for Djokovic after losing to Del Potro a couple of weeks ago at Wimbledon. Djokovic will face Roger Federer or Stanislas Wawrinka in the final tomorrow.

  2. 5-2 - DJOKOVIC 5-2! The double break for the world number two as he closes in on victory. Djokovic really going for the jugular as he brings up three break points. Del Potro looks a busted flush as he lifts a forehand well wide of the target to be broken to deuce. Djokovic will serve for his place in the final.

  3. 4-2 - DJOKOVIC 4-2 -A fabulous rally of 22 points after Del Potro had brought up two break points with a blistering forehand winner. Some stunning stuff by both men, but a brilliant serve by Djokovic backs up a forehand winner to deny Del Potro the vital break. Outstanding stuff from Djoker as he gets out of the game holding serve under immense pressure. Needs two more games for victory.

  4. 3-2 - DJOKOVIC 3-2 - Del Potro not slipping quietly into the night here. Or the afternoon in the US. Some fine hitting by the Argentine player in that game as he bludgeons his way back to 3-2 behind. Del Potro winning 65 per cent of points on first serve. That wrist doesn't seem to be causing too much grief.

  5. 3-1 - DJOKOVIC 3-1- A blistering forehand approach by Del Potro pays dividends in carrying Del Potro back to 30-30 only for a backhand to miss seconds later. Some crushing shots by Djokovic before a little drop winner at the net enables Djokovic to cement the break for a 3-1 lead. Supreme stuff by Djokovic, who is punching the air in delight. He moves closer to the final.

  6. 2-1 - BREAK DJOKOVIC 2-1 - Del Potro's racket bleeding errors from deep as he is broken for a second time in this match. Not sure how much of a problem his left wrist is, but Djokovic is looking very good to book his place in this final. He will serve for a 3-1 lead.

  7. 1-1 - 1-1 - Del Potro going for broke on a couple of points, but misfiring with the big forehand as Djokovic restores parity at 1-1. Games on serve. All level in the set again. Wonder where Del Porto goes from here. Difficult to see him winning the match from here. A fine love service game by Djokovic.

  8. 1-0 - DEL POTRO 1-0 - A fine service game from Del Potro. Holds to love. Del Potro must look to win points quickly and cheaply. The longer these rallies progress, the easier it is for Djokovic to get into these points. Del Potro looking to emulate his early form in the opening set.

  9. 6-3 - SET DJOKOVIC 6-3! Del Potro is successful with the challenge in staving off losing the game to love, but a throbbing first serve bounds beyond Del Potro to hand Djokovic the set. Wasn't the easiest set for Djokovic, but he got better the longer it went on. Djokovic has saved 33 break points over the past few weeks. Del Potro feeling the pain in his left wrist which isn't helping his situation.

  10. 5-3 - DJOKOVIC 5-3 - Del Potro seems to be grimacing, but he comes up with a thumping first serve ace to see out the game and hold. Up to three aces now for the set, but he will need some magic on the Djokovic serve with the Serbian player on the cusp of a 1-0 lead in this match. Djoker to serve for the set.

  11. 5-2 - Djokovic closes out the game with a second ace of the match to move 5-2 clear. He needs one more game to claim the set. Del Potro really paying the price for lacking enough thrust from deep. His retreating movements are proving so costly. Del Potro calls for the trainer. His left wrist is giving him some grief.

  12. 4-2 - BREAK DJOKOVIC - Del Potro throws in his first double fault as the score reaches 30-30 on the Del Potro serve. Another error flies off the racket of Djokovic to hand another break point to Djoker. And a second double fault is so costly. Suddenly Djokovic has this set at his mercy.

  13. 3-2 - DJOKOVIC 3-2 - A much, much better service game from the world number two. No such drama in that game as he drops only one point in moving ahead by the odd game in five. A packed court enjoying the action on court as Del Potro tries to restore parity here.

  14. 2-2 - 2-2 - The length of the rallies seem to taking their toll on Del Potro as he falls 40-0 behind. Suddenly, Del Potro beginning to misfire from the back of the court. Being forced backwards and Djokovic is clearly the superior player the longer the exchanges go from the back of the court. Del Potro manages to drag himself back to deuce aided by some sold serving before another couple of fine points stave off the break. We remain level on serve. Somehow. Bubbling up nicely here.

  15. 2-1 - DJOKOVIC 2-1 - Djokovic misses unexpectedly from deep a couple of times to give Del Potro two break points, but he drives a backhand down the line to save the first break point. Del Potro a bit tentative in the key moment as Djokovic thunders a blistering forehand across court to rescue the second break point. Another break point comes and goes for Djokovic as he pulls the trigger and knocks a forehand wide. Finally Djokovic gets over the line. Four break points saved.

  16. 1-1 - 1-1 - Del Potro keen to remain at the back of the court. Comes up with a decent big first serve to ease himself 40-30 clear. The high ball toss is evident on the second serve, but he is penalised for staying back seconds later as he knocks a forehand long from deep. Not sure hanging back is going to help Del Potro. Djokovic tickles the nets with a backhand that drills the net before Djoker fails with a forehand on the run. We are level at 1-1.

  17. 1-0 - DJOKOVIC 1-0 - Djokovic hasn't been broken this week, but he thumps a forehand into the net to encounter a bit of heat leading 30-15. A big first serve is bundled into the net on the return by Del Potro before the man from Argentina is long seconds later to hand Djokovic the first game of the match. An important hold for Djokovic. Over to Del Potro now.

  18. 0-0 - A few clouds in the sky, but an otherwise perfect day for a spot of tennis. Djoker with his white baseball cap on. Almost ready to go here. Djokovic to serve in the opening game of the match.

  19. 18.05 - Players out warming up at the moment. Remember the US Open begins on August 27. That Grand Slam should be make for interesting watching. Both of these men could feature prominently in New York.

  20. 18.00 - Djokovic with a 4-2 lead in their head-to-head records, but interestingly enough Del Potro has won their two previous meetings including that bronze medal win - 7-5 6-4 - in the Olympic Games at Wimbledon a couple of weeks ago.

  21. 17.50 - Good afternoon and welcome to LIVE coverage of the semi-finals of the Cincinnati Masters semi-finals. The first match sees Novak Djokovic takes on Juan Martin Del Potro. We are due to start at the back of 6pm BST.
