  2. - DEL POTRO 6-4 7-6 3-2 - Del Potro survives break point to clinch the game with a monstrous serve.

  3. - DEL POTRO 6-4 7-6 2-1 - Del Potro looking far more relaxed after securing victory in that tense second set tie break. Both players holding their serve, but you get the feeling Del Potro will pounce earlier in this third set.

  4. - DEL POTRO 6-4 7-6 - Del Potro wins the tie break. The Argentine clinches the second set on his third set point. He makes heavy weather of it, but seals it with a smart serve and volley.

  5. - DEL POTRO 6-4 6-6 - Del Potro serves out his final service game to force a tie break in a set he should have won long ago. But credit to Serra - he's hung in there and this will be crucial.

  6. - DEL POTRO 6-4 4-5 - Two more break points have come and gone for Del Potro, who is doing his best not to win this second set. Serra puts the pressure back on the former champ.

  7. - DEL POTRO 6-4 2-3 - On serve in the second serve, but how much longer can Serra hang in there? Del Potro is taking the Frenchman to deuce on his serve every time. But so far he's survived.

  8. - DEL POTRO 6-4 - Del Potro takes the first set. The 2009 champions is in complete control on the Louis Armstrong.

  2. No byes in GS especially in early rounds, lucky losers hang around until they get lucky as Serra did today. More to the point why is this Eurosport site so bad. News stories are old, very little analysis of other matches taking place and it was the BBC site that told me Nalbandian was withdrawing. Thank goodness I can watch on Sky.

  3. Serra is a Lucky Loser...so like being kept in reserve just in case a player pulls out. Nalbandian pulled out.
