  1. - - GAME, SET AND MATCH DJOKOVIC 6-3 6-3! All too much for Haas, who is broken again as he is bundled out of the tournament. No 500th career win for Haas today, but a big ask against Djokovic when he is playing so well. Djokovic with a 20 winners and 20 unforced errors. A confident and purposeful win for Djoker. He faces Berdych in the last four.

  2. - - BREAK HAAS! Haas manages to wriggle clear of a couple of match points before claiming his second break of the match in only his second break point. One of the breaks saved by Haas. Too early to predict a stunning recovery, but at least the patient continues to breathe out there. A 5-3 lead now for Djokovic.

  3. - - DJOKOVIC 5-2 - Might as well take the double break if it is being offered to you. The insurance policy works well for Djoker, who comes out to serve for the match with Haas clearly running low of fuel at the wrong time in the match.

  4. - - DJOKOVIC 4-2 - Djokovic feeling no such tension with the winning line coming bounding into view. Two games away now from a meeting with Tomas Berdych in the last four. Haas now 66/1 to mount a comeback in the live betting odds.

  5. - - BREAK DJOKOVIC 3-2 - The pressure really starting to tell on the shoulders of Haas, who is undone for a second time in this set and is suddenly staring into the abyss. A few fine hit from Djokovic more than good enough to unsettle Haas. This match well and truly in the hands of Djokovic after one hour and eight minutes of play.

  6. - - 2-2 - Very little chance of Djokovic dropping his serve for a second straight time, and chance has just left the building. Some superb hitting again by the Serbian is backed up with a delicate little winner at the net. Djokovic winning an enormous 85 percent of points when the first set finds its natural home. All square again then in this second set at 2-2.

  7. 12:47 - BREAK DJOKOVIC 1-2! A love game from Djokovic on the Haas serve takes away any sort of momenum the German was trying to build and throws it out of the stadium. Poor stuff really from Haas just when he didn't need it. Djokovic will serve to restore parity in this second set.

  8. - - BREAK HAAS 2-0! Haas back in business then in this match as Djokovic wallops a forehand long from the back of the court. The German being repaid for not slipping quietly into the night. Getting the ball back in play, and gets his reward. Haas playing plenty of noise out there in every sense.

  9. - - HAAS 1-0 - If Haas is going to find any route back into this match, he can't really afford to be broken by Djokovic. Comes up with a timely hold under some pressure by his celebrated opponent. A job well done by Haas then in restricting Djokovic to 30, but has to try to dent the Serbian's obvious confidence on serve.

  10. - - SET DJOKOVIC 6-3 - Djokovic trailing 0-30 in the game that he needs to level matters. Haas clips the net from deep as the score reaches 30-30. So many easy service games for Djokovic, but he is pushed to deuce by the ongoing Haaas. Brings up two set points, but gets over the line on the third set point to pocket the opening set 6-3. A fine, fine set by Djoker. Did we expect anything else?

  11. - - DJOKOVIC 5-3 - Haas a break down, but his spirit is far from broken. The German player continues to pump himself up with a fine piece of theatre on court. Attempting to persuade his better side that he can push for a break back in this opening set of the match.

  12. - - DJOKOVIC 5-2 - Have to feel a bit sorry for Haas out there. He is not playing his worst match, but is coming up against a Djokovic who is producing some majestic stuff. As usual, Djoker is coming up with the good stuff when pressed. The locals seem to be warming to the Djokovic performance. Little wonder. Haas will serve to stay active in this first set.

  13. - - BREAK DJOKOVIC 4-2 - Djokovic comes up with a pulsating shot down the line that is too good for Haas, but the German manages to save the break point on the next point by getting on the front foot with some real aggression. A few brutish hits from Haas that Djoker would have been proud off, but Djokovic continues to probe and push in his usual manner. The pressure finally tells on Haas, who wilts in the face of Djokovic onslaught. First blood to Djoker here.

  14. - - DJOKOVIC 3-2 - The way Djokovic is serving here, you get the feeling Haas is going to have to come up with something a little bit special to derail the Serbian player today. But you never know. Where there is life, there is hope. Djokovic winning every point so far on his first serve which suggest there is a bit of an assignment ahead of the German player if he is going to pluck out an unlikely win.

  15. - - 2-2 - All square then in this match as Haas again responds strongly to falling behind in holding his own serve. Haas looking for his first win over Djokovic since Wimbledon in 2009. They met earlier this year in Toronto with Djokovic prevailing in three sets.

  16. - - DJOKOVIC 2-1 - Djoker has started this match like a dream on serve. Ripping through the defence of Haas like there is an empty space waiting to return at the other end of the net. Eight straight points now on serve from Djokovic without a response. He leads 2-1 early in the first set.

  17. - - 1-1 - Haas, 34, the second veteran in action today moments after Stepanek, 33, played so well against Murray. Djokovic subjected him to some serious heat there, but Haas stood up well to the examination in holding firm from deuce to level at 1-1. Match on serve, Haas on the move.

  18. - - DJOKOVIC 1-0 - Blink and you would have missed that opening game. Four first serves from Djoker, four first points to Djoker. No joke. A love game to get the action off and running in this third Shanghai quarter-final.

  19. 0-0 - Djokovic to serve in the opening game of the match.

  20. 11:43 - Head-to-heads between these two men sees Djokovic enjoy a 3-2 lead. Odds ahead of this one. Djokovic a 1/12 shot with Haas coming in at 10/1.

  21. 11:29 - Tomas Berdych and Andy Murray through. Can Djokovic can take care of the veteran gunslinger Haas? That match coming up for you now.
