  1. - - GAME, SET AND MATCH! MURRAY 1-6 6-7(4) 2-6 DIMITROV - It's all over. Murray's dream of completing a triumphant defence of his title is torn to shreds in straight sets. Last year's champion was simply second best to a young pretender who is finally realising his potential. It all ends in misery for the Scot who serves a double fault at 15-30 to hand the Bulgarian two match points. A wonderful forehand into the corner merely delays the inevitable as he flashes into the net on the next point to bow out with a whimper. Dimitrov will now play Djokovic or Cilic in the semi finals.

  2. - - MURRAY 1-6 6-7(4) 2-5 DIMITROV - The intoxicating lure of that semi final berth sees Dimi take his eye off the present to allow Muzza some hope with a double fault at 15-15. But the Scot can't make it count as the Bulgarian shows real steel to storm back and consolidate with a 10th ace of the match. It's been quite sensational from Dimitrov today. He's combined big serving, exquisite technique and never-say-die defence to completely outplay the defending champion. Murray must now serve to keep his defence alive.

  3. - - MURRAY 1-6 6-7(4) 2-4 DIMITROV - BREAK! It's looking rather bleak for Muzza now. The British number one lets a 40-15 lead slip as he crashes a simple forehand into the net after Dimi had exposed a poor second serve with a return winner down the line. Another mistimed crosscourt shot leaves him facing break point and he buckles under the strain with a double fault.

  4. - - MURRAY 1-6 6-7(4) 2-3 DIMITROV - More hints of over confidence blot Dimi's serving copy book and he allows Murray to up the ante to tie at deuce. The pair exchange points once more before Murray breaks a string to give the Bulgarian the advantage he needs to go on and complete the hold. A real shame for the Scot who was very much in that game until the ill-timed racket malfunction.

  5. - - MURRAY 1-6 6-7(4) 2-2 DIMITROV - We're still on serve in this third set as Murray enjoys a relatively routine hold. Centre court will be hoping for more of the same in the games ahead as the champion looks to knock the Bulgarian out of his stylish stride.

  6. - - MURRAY 1-6 6-7(4) 1-2 DIMITROV - Not a sniff for Murray as the Bulgarian romps to a love game with more solid serving. If he sees this match out it will give real credence to those who had been touting him to do some damage at this summer's tournament prior to his arrival in SW19. He's always had the talent, but he's finally backing that up with results this year. This one would be a real coup - but Murray's not giving up just yet.

  7. - - MURRAY 1-6 6-7(4) 1-1 DIMITROV - Call it arrogance or over-confidence but Dimitrov attempts a nonchalant drop shot at 15-15 that only serves to inspire Murray. The champion chases it down before winning the point with an angled volley. It encourages both the Scot and his supporters and he goes onto to take it to 30 when Dimi fires one of the worst shots of the tournament towards the spectators from way out on the right side of his court.

  8. - - MURRAY 1-6 6-7(4) 0-1 DIMITROV - There's an air of inevitability about Dimi's first service game in the third as he continues to ride the crest of wave and get off to a solid start. Muzza is feeding on scraps once again as finds himself playing catch up.

  9. - MURRAY 1-6 6-7(4) DIMITROV - SET! The champion has a mountain to climb as the Bulgarian shows great composure and skill to claim the tie break and go two up. A scintillating crosscourt backhand sees Dimi edge ahead at 5-4 and he follows it up with a brilliantly caressed drop volley at the net to snare two break points. He only needs one of them, showing superb prowess at the next once again to leave Murray with it all to do.

  10. - - MURRAY 1-6 6-6 DIMITROV - TIE BREAK! Dimitrov has followed up some big serves with dominant play at the net on various occasions today and he does it to good effect in this one, shrugging off the drop of a first point to rattle down two aces and comfortably secure the TB.

  11. - - MURRAY 1-6 6-5 DIMITROV - Rollercoaster tennis from the British number one! Indeed, there's never a dull moment with Andy Murray. Just when it appears the Scot has got it together he finds himself 0-30 down in what is a crucial 11th game of the set. A poorly-executed backhand then lights up Dimi's eyes to the possibility of a break, but the champion digs deep to tie it at deuce. An ace edges him ahead and he eventually pulls off a big, big hold when he brushes off the Bulgarian's defence to calmly prod a volley home at the net.

  12. - - MURRAY 1-6 5-5 DIMITROV - The Bulgarian appears to have lost his aura of coolness personified and mistakes are beginning to creep in which is allowing Murray openings. A wide forehand and a double fault give Murray a foothold in the game at 30-30 but the Scot can't control his crosscourt pass letting Dimi off the hook to serve it out.

  13. - - MURRAY 1-6 5-4 DIMITROV - Gritty stuff from Murray as he holds to edge ahead. At 30-15 the Scot mistimes a simple forehand but then stands firm in an astonishing 31-stroke rally to ensure Dimi blinks first with a slice into the net. An ace seals the game and centre court erupts with a mixture of joy and relief.

  14. - - MURRAY 1-6 4-4 DIMITROV - BREAK! A massive moment for Murray in the context of this tie. The Scot sees a 0-30 lead become a 40-30 deficit but keeps plugging away to claim deuce. The first sign of any pressure begin to show on Dimi and he gifts Muzza the immediate break back when he flashes a backhand into the left-hand alley he is facing.

  15. - - MURRAY 1-6 3-4 DIMITROV - BREAK! Big trouble for Murray once more. The centre court crowd do their best to rally Muzza as he opens with a simple error to immediately put himself on the back foot. He responds but a tense inside out attempt across court snaps into the net to hand Dimitrov an opportunity point (15-30). The Bulgarian unleashes a bullet of backhand down the line to tee up a break point but Murray saves it with a sublime drop volley. A woefully wide forehand then provides Dimi with another chance and Murray buckles under the strain with a sliced approach that flies long.

  16. - - MURRAY 1-6 3-3 DIMITROV - Murray needs to keep that frustration at bay if he is to turn this around. The point of the game sees an exhilarating rally go against him as he sweeps a forehand long of the baseline. The sight of the Scot screaming his irritation to himself must be a delight to behold for Baby Fed who polishes off the hold with a dominant volley into the corner.

  17. - - MURRAY 1-6 3-2 DIMITROV - Better from Murray as he seals a hold to 15. A net cord goes his way at 30-15 and he takes full advantage to thunder a forehand winner down the line. The defending champion is being posed some tough questions here but finally looks like he may be coming up with some answers.

  18. - - MURRAY 1-6 2-2 DIMITROV - It's far too routine for the Bulgarian from Murray's point of view as Dimi romps to a double-quick hold to love. The Scot was made to work very hard in his last service game and is immediately back under the microscope as the 11th seed continues to get under his skin.

  19. - - MURRAY 1-6 2-1 DIMITROV - The gloomy sound of a brace of double fault beeps creates an uneasy atmosphere on centre court as the Scot is made to work hard to take it to deuce. Dimitrov continues to exude confidence but it proves his undoing on this occasion as his sliced drop shot is picked up by Murray whose lofted attempt down the line causes the Bulgarian to awkwardly steer into the alley.

  20. - - MURRAY 1-6 1-1 DIMITROV - Muzza gets a foothold in the game and attempts to put some pressure on the Dimi serve at 40-30, but the Bulgarian is playing some superb stuff at the net and once again sees off the challenge with an exquisitely angled volley to level it.

  21. - - MURRAY 1-6 1-0 DIMITROV - Exactly the response Murray would have hoped for as he clinches a love service game with some positive play. The Scot was blown away in that opener but can still turn this around. He's shown time and time again in the past that he can triumph in adversity.

  22. - - MURRAY 1-6 DIMITROV - SET! Hugely impressive tennis from the Bulgarian pretender to the throne. The 11th seed breaks the champion twice in a one-sided first set, serving it out to 30. Murray saves one set point with some impish play at the net but Dimi seals the opener with an overhead put away.

  23. - - MURRAY 1-5 DIMITROV - BREAK! It's early days but you sense the title defence could be in big trouble here. Baby Fed has got that mojo working and leaves Murray with a lot to do when he sears a return winner whistling by the Scot to make 0-30. The British number one looks a bit lost out there and can only fire the next two points into the net to hand Dimi a double break to love.

  24. - - MURRAY 1-4 DIMITROV - The pundits said this would be the tournament Dimi came of age and he's started this encounter like a freight train. Muzza can offer little resistance as the Bulgarian marches into a 40-0 lead and comfortably consolidates the break to love when last year's champ flashes a shot into the net.

  25. - - MURRAY 1-3 DIMITROV - BREAK! It looks like the Bulgarian is loving the spotlight. A rasping forehand winner levels it at 15-15 and he goes on the attack, forcing Murray into unusual errors. The 11th seed works his way towards two break points and makes it count when an approach shot sees Murray blaze well wide of the tramlines as the imposing figure of Dimitrov closed off space at the net.

  26. - - MURRAY 1-2 DIMITROV - Baby Fed showing just why he picked up the nickname with some flawless technique to put away an awkward high block from Murray before dismissively crunching home an overhead to take it to 15.

  27. - - MURRAY 1-1 DIMITROV - Superb tennis from the reigning champion as he romps through his opening service game to love. A combination of big first serves and an array of probing groundstrokes prove too good despite some commendable defence from the 11th seed.

  28. - - MURRAY 0-1 DIMITROV - It's a positive start for Murray as he attacks Dimitrov from the off, trying to take advantage of any early jitters. The Bulgarian shows strong resilience to fight back from 0-30 down and break point and eventually holds when Muzza steers a shot into the net.

  29. - - Here we go then, Dimirov to serve first...

  30. 13.25 - Dimitrov secured his first ever appearance in the Wimbledon quarter finals with a superb straight sets victory over Argentine Leonardo Mayer.

  31. 13.22 - The players are out on centre court, the coin has been tossed and the warm ups are commencing. Murray booked his place in the last eight with an impressive 6-4, 6-3, 7-6 success over South African Kevin Anderson.

  32. 13.20 - Murray has built up a good friendship with Dimitrov over recent years. The Bulgarian tweeted a photo of them sharing an ice bath in Australia at the start of the year and was also seen joking around with Dimi in Rome recently, offering him a comedy blow-dry at a hair salon. The fun and friendship will take a backseat for a few hours today as Murray looks to maintain his defence of the SW19 title. He said: "It's a step up because it's one round further. The guys that are in the quarter-finals are going to be playing top tennis. He won Queen's a couple weeks ago. He likes the grass courts. It's a big opportunity for him, as well, playing on the Centre Court at Wimbledon for the first time."

  33. 13.18 - Dimitrov accepts he will have most of the centre court against him today - but hopes girlfriend Maria Sharapova, who bowed out of the women's draw yesterday, will be there to cheer him on. He said: "She's just been unbelievable, supporting me throughout the year. Having Maria on my side definitely adds up, and with a tremendous champion like her, there is a lot to learn...." He added: "I just want to come out with my big game and play my aggressive tennis."

  34. 13.15 - HEAD-TO-HEAD: Murray has won three of their four meetings. However, Dimitrov has made great strides in the past 12 months and triumphed in their last showdown earlier this year. The man nicknamed 'Baby Fed' came through in three sets in a close contest in Acapulco, winning two tie breaks to edge out the Scot.

  35. 13.10 - Good afternoon and welcome to the mouthwatering quarter-final clash between reigning champion Andy Murray and Bulgarian superstar-in-the-making, Grigor Dimitrov. The players will be on centre court imminently to commence the warm up.
