Canada Wildfire Haze Creates Fiery Sunrise in Denver

Smoke from more than 200 wildfires burning in western Canada wafted over northern parts of the United States on Monday, May 22, footage shows.

Video posted by Shawn Spradling shows the sunrise near the Denver International Airport on Monday morning, he said.

“Straight out of a sci-fi movie,” Spradling wrote on Twitter.

The air quality in Denver was of moderate pollution levels on Monday, according to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Air quality would be unhealthy for sensitive groups on Monday and Tuesday, the department said. Credit: Shawn Spradling via Storyful
